Gus007, if I’m not mistaken JC Politz was the announcer when Taylor & Cannon played. I know Politz called the “punt return “ in 1959.

Somebody must be really old to remember Gaynel Tinsley. I’m 72 and remember him after he was no longer coaching. I lived next door to him from 1957-1961.

I can’t believe there isn’t anyone in this thread that that isn’t old enough to remember, 1957 was the last year of the “old gold” uniforms and 1958 the yellow gold pants and helmets began.
Between the last game of the 1961 season and the Orange Bowl against Colorado is when the Louisiana legislature passed the bill allowing LSU athletes to play schools that had black players.
Atkins will get the next scholarship available. Next year he will do kickoffs, FGs, & XPs. He was also the punter for Auburn HS. What a steal we got with him.

The Fla fans are a bunch of rude a**holes I hope to god our fans aren’t that bad
My wife and daughter and I were were waiting for the bus to go back to the car and a bunch of girls came by us and said f*** LSU right to us and none of the Fla fans around us said a word
I also live in Fla and was at the game. What bothered was the rudeness of the fans especially when the booed when our players would get hurt.

Other than Ole Miss O has a good record. Saban couldn’t have won at Ole Miss with talent (or lack there of)
Get over last year this team will be very good
We have as much talent or more than anyone in the league. The best DC in the nation and a good OC sit back and watch them roll. And other than at Ole Miss O has a good record. If not this year we win BC in 2019.
I differ on wins and scores. We will score 50+ against SE,LaT,OM, &Rice. Fla isn’t good, we beat Aub again only possible loses is Ga & Bama. Will lead the league in defense and rank in top 3in offense.
Being from swFL I have seen Curry, 200 lbs run like 220 and fast 1200+ and a bunch of TDs
Don't worry Chris Curry will be there soon, he graduates in a couple of weeks
