Here's something that may explain the disparity in viewership. The SEC is more competitive across the board, by a long way:
The SEC Floor: The single lowest-rated team in the entire 16-team SEC is the Kentucky Wildcats, finishing the 2025 season ranked No. 67 nationally in overall efficiency.
The Big Ten Sub-Floor: A massive seven Big Ten programs finished ranked worse than Kentucky, sinking way below the absolute bottom of the SEC.
The programs responsible for the Big Ten's steep statistical drop-off include: Minnesota Golden Gophers (Finished at No. 70) Rutgers Scarlet Knights (Finished at No. 72). Michigan State Spartans. Maryland Terrapins. Wisconsin Badgers. UCLA Bruins. Purdue Boilermakers (The lowest overall, suffering an 0-9 conference record). All below Kentucky, the worst team in the SEC, statistically.

University of South Carolina. Forever will remember them “returning the favor” sending tons of emergency relief to the Baton Rouge area after the Great Flood of 2016; were reciprocating 10x from LSU doing the same for them the year before.

This. The 2000 LSU Baseball team went undefeated in post-season play. That's practically unheard of in baseball.

You forgot to mention that LSU was in a NC game during that span as well, in 2011. Lost to Gump, after going undefeated in the regular season, including a win at T-Town.

This coming from a Florida fan wanting to avoid facing the best pitcher in College baseball.
Florida had a huge advantage going into the CWS finals on the right side of the brackets, and saving up their pitching arms on the way.
I would hope that *everyone* will want to see a game 3 without an asterisk denoting that neither the 1 nor the 2 pitcher for LSU even played in the finals.
