Another "Free Speech Rally" is set for Boston this weekend. The Mayor has the right idea and is urging counter-protesters to stay home.
For once I find myself in agreement with the SPLC.
Along with this there will be around 500 cops in and around the event, something Charlottesville completely failed at.

The mayor said he has spoken with the Southern Poverty Law Center for guidance on how to handle events involving white supremacists.
“They say that interacting with these groups just gives them a platform to spread their message of hate,” said Walsh. “They recommend that people should not confront these rallies. So we’re urging everyone to stay away from the Common.”

Basically just go back to how we dealt with these lunatics when I was growing up.

I'm not arguing by asking this, just asking an honest question. What makes you say that?

I've been to Boston and have to say I couldn't believe the things I heard in Fenway.

They were there. They were ready. They were ordered by the instigating sociopath of a mayor to stand down.

They might not protest with them but they probably have a ton of private support

Read something about the new owner having a few things on his list he wanted taking care of and the statue is one of them

This has to be "fake news". Whitey Bulger and the Winter Hill Boys wouldn't approve of this.

Thousands Expected to Attend Boston Protests of Right-Wing Rally
quote:
The “Boston Free Speech Rally” — organized by a coalition of groups calling themselves "libertarian" and "conservative" — has been on the books since late July and the protests were organized not long after by ANSWER Coalition Boston and the local chapter of Black Lives Matter (BLM).
quote:
A BLM-organized demonstration called “Fight Supremacy” experienced the same growth, raising more than $20,000 by Thursday night and suddenly expecting more than 10,000 attendees.
quote:
Black Lives Matter and ANSWER Coalition made it clear that they do not condone violence, but Antifa, the coalition of more militant left-wingers, is also expected to make an appearance, though the group lacks official permits.
While Antifa has often been present at protests across the country, they are a decentralized group and have made no statements about their presence.
“Though we don’t agree with Antifa’s tactics and strategy and adventurism, we respect their willingness to put their bodies on the line to fight fascists,” Brown explained.

I think that Mayor got "orders" from upon high. No way such a young Mayor does that on his own. He's not that politically evil yet. I hope anyway.

If ANTIFA shows up without a permit again, the police need to just arrest them. Put them in jail for the weekend and deal with it Monday.
