The most probable outcome of this hogwash Etling/Brennan debate is unless Danny completely shits the bed ala Brandon Harris' first 3 games last year, or gets injured, he's going to be the guy the entirety of this season. Myles takes the first snap next year with Lowell being a more than capable backup/special package guy.

All of that could easily be completely wrong and that's fine too.

I'm not even close ready to annoint Brennan anything other than a solid prospect in the future. But if Canada or O has a crystallizing moment, in their time spent with these QB's that leads them to believe Brennan gives us a better opportunity for success, then by all means let it rip.
Until such time, these coaches have way more at stake than us and I trust them to field the best possible team.

Brennan better be ready because Etling's chances of lasting a full season with his back and our OL is slim.

Seems like it was just yesterday that Anthony Jennings was the guy people were anointing.

There is a big difference in why Hurts was able to succeed and it will be harder for Brennan to. Hurts was there for Spring, Hurts was a solid 210(wasn't he a power lifter), Hurts ability to extend plays with his legs. Let's all pray the Fr. aren't needed his year.

Would have been interesting to see where he would be if he early enrolled. May have passed him already.

So you wish to renegotiate your position after getting a legitimate answer ?

I think Etlings health will play a huge factor in this.

Dont think Etling will be replaced because of bad play. I have faith in DE as a QB in this offense.

But, If I were Brennan I would stay warm for sure.

The real question should be how long until he transfers?

Ok. I'll play along....

Brennan will play some in the 2nd half against BYU. One or two series.

He will play more in Week 2 against Chattanooga. Hopefully the entire 4th QTR and the last series of the 3rd.

He will play a few series against Miss St and Syracuse.

Miles Brennan will become our starting QB against Week 5 against Troy.

Unless Etling is noticeably improved from last year.

We'll see what happens, but you gotta give Canada a chance to work with the more seasoned QB. I mean, Etling has had what, 4 different OCs in so many years? I hate that for the kid, but you gotta think it'll be obvious soon if he gets it or not.

Bama, last season.

Kinda helps a bit to be umpteen levels deep in 5 star players surrounding him to share the burden of carrying him when necessary, don't ya think? We're not nearly there especially on the offensive line.

so 1 in the last 15 years. That doesn't exactly spell success.

The odds are against Brennan having a successful true freshman campaign.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on LSU bringing him along slowly.
