Niceville, FL or Katy, TX area

Far enough away from the local politics and culcha, but close enough to drive back to visit when I want

Destin or Denver if I'm rich.

Dallas or LA if I'm not.

I could move and get all of that listed in the OP very easily. I love south La and love being walking distance from family.
It be what it be.

I can work from anywhere. Moving to Hermosa Beach for at least 3 months starting next weekend. If this goes well, I have thought about just staying in different places 3-6 months at a time just to experience things.

I had my kids at Parkview. Moving to the Woodlands and seeing the marked improvement of my kids' attitudes and learning was eye-opening. Move now if you can, save the (would be) private school tuition for their college. Texas just has its shite together, until you move you just can't appreciate how arse-backwards Louisiana is with its investment in infrastructure and education.

Not building anymore. Still in RE and construction. Actually have a lot of contractors in a lot of states working for me now. I do work for private clients (banks) and work is there no matter what the market/economy is doing and I don't have to chase it.

Many beautiful places in CA but would never live there. Too many laws, taxes and liberals. I would move to SW FL coast area. Can't deal with cold weather.

I haven't spent a lot of time around there, but I do like the culture of Charleston a lot. Perhaps somewhere in the Georgia to Virginia farming country.

I wouldn't definitely do it, but I'd probably at least consider it.

Yes in a heartbeat. Anywhere with 4 seasons, water and mountains.
