well it's really hard to make your arguments when the American media has turned Trump into the villain, when the actual villain is a terrible dictator who consistently threatens worldwide peace by continuing to develop it's nuclear/ICBM programs. in what universe is a silly "strong man" statement in any way comparable to what Un is doing? it's not
the media is doing nothing more than actin partisan to attack trump and they're acting insane. trying to make Trump into the villain here is just as insane as scruffy's statement

I don't see things in terms of heroes and villains.
NK is a twisted and horrible dictatorship, but Kim Jong is by all accounts paranoid, isolated, and scared shitless.
Trump, who should know better, is responding in the same petulant and short-sighted approach he applies to most issues. He is certainly not the villain, but his actions are unquestionably needlessly escalating the situation. You can't tell me with a straight face the joint chiefs told him to make those comments
Put the two situations together and combine it with a lack of diplomatic relations and you've got right now a 2 or 3% chance of outright war between nuclear states. I don't know about you, but that's 2 or 3% too high for my tastes.

quote:It's a pretty strong and overt abdication of intellectual honesty. They've completely abandoned it to press a partisan narrative. Some seem to be OK with that--to each their own--but it says a lot about their own level of intellectual honesty.

Ironically, soon enought it will be the same people calling republicans hypocrites about _________. (insert whatever issue you like)
