Last year's team allowed 15.8 PPG. Over or under 15.8 for 2017?

Over. This year's defense will be good but not be as good as last year's.

Under. Fully implemented scheme with an offense that can move the ball.

Over, not as experienced on D. Also we will score a lot more on offense so the D will be playing more back ups in garbage time.

And last years team was really better than that, without the Texas a&m game their ppg allowed would be around 13.6

Over.

The defense will be good, yes. We have a loaded roster of exceptional depth on defense, yes. We have the best defensive coordinator in CFB, yes.

But personally, I believe it is unwise to think that the defense will be better after losing multiple draft picks- two of which were first rounders.

I like this defense and am excited for the possibilities.

I have to say Over 15.8 though. Adams was a force anywhere on the field. You have to replace the senior leadership with guys like Beckwith, White, Riley, and Thomas.

Say what you will about Riley and Thomas, they both vastly exceeded my expectations for them last year.

We will have a very strong defense, but you will likely see growing pains. Until I see Key on the field playing at 100% I'm not holding my breath. Too many summer let downs from players.

Over, there is no replacement for Adams and White in the secondary.

Under. That aTm game inflated that stat. Plus Aranda has mentioned that last year was more of a vanilla scheme since it was new to the players. This year he'll have much more installed.

I'll say under because if our offense turns out to really be good under Canada, that means our time of possession will increase significantly, which translates into less time our defense will be required to be on the field.

Plus the rotation in our front seven is going to be significantly better, the pass rush also should be better as we have a wealth of riches when it comes to speedy rushers, and our inside linebackers, although both will be first-year starters I'm thinking they will also be better than last years duo as well.

Finally, I think our defensive backfield will be close to as good as last year's defensive backfield was and it should be because I believe our rush should be significantly better this year. Anyway, any deficits in that department should be more than made up for with the improved front seven and linebacking core play. So again I say under slightly.

Not to mention, that this is also Dave Aranda's second year.

QB play in the SeC will. be better this year. Our DL should be the best it's been since 2011. If the DB's can play well this D is going to be nasty. Rashard Lawrence is going to wreck shite this year. Predicting about the same.

Over. Defense will be good but I expect them to be on the field more with LSU's new faster paced offense.

Slightly over...hard to replace guys like Adams, White, Godchaux, Beck and Riley now playing on Sundays. Amount of pure talent on last yr's DEF was profound!
Next year, IF we don't lose many JR's, UNDER!

over unless we have a 2nd lb step up and be all sec.

Duke Riley really was a huge part of why our defense was so good. we had a 2nd great lb to sure up the interior

I'd say over, 16-20 range. Not so much because of the departure of talent, I feel like we'll be nearly as good as last year towards the end but I think the offenses we face will be better this year. The QBs in the SEC weren't all that great last year, looking for that to improve this year. Not to mention if our offense does get better, our defense may be on the field longer.

Lol... We lost some key pieces, but those were replaced by talent. Talent that can/will shine in Aranda's second year here. His schemes should be fully operable...

Book mark this... I'll take a ban bet; UNDER. This year's defense will be BETTER than last years.
