Check out this news from Reuters.
Sounds like Trump hasn't thrown in the towel yet on healthcare reform.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul said he spoke to President Donald Trump by phone about healthcare reform on Monday and told the president he thought Trump had the authority to create associations that would allow organizations to offer group health insurance plans.

Allowing groups like AARP, which represents retirees, to form health associations could enable individuals and small businesses to form larger groups to negotiate with health insurance companies for lower rates.

I know the Writer's Guild of America offers insurance. I'm wondering if other unions can.

An AARP group plan would not work unless premiums were sky high
It would be sick as hell
It would be sick as hell

They aren't selling insurance. It's about allowing groups and businesses to form associations. Those association would then be allowed to negotiate directly with insurance companies for better rates. If you have an association with millions of members, you have tremendous negotiating power.

Jesus can you imagine what the costs would be if you joined the AARP plan?

Relatively easy to work around

Trump is going to pick away at Obamacare until it's no longer recognizable.

There's already one. It's a Medicare supplement, not a primary, and it's run by United.

Think of it this way. Most people get their insurance through their employer. If your employer doesn't offer insurance, you have to buy it yourself on the open market. You basically have no bargaining power when you buy it yourself. However, if you and others like you formed an association, that association could then negotiate directly with the insurance companies for better rates because you are no longer a single entity wanting to buy insurance. Makes sense now?

They currently sponsor a Medicare supplement plan run by United Health so they could do this too

I thought he already had the best plan ready to go day 1.
Or that was a total lie
Looks like it was a lie

That was the Congressional Republicans
Do try to keep up
An error in tyhe timing error pales in comparison to "you can keep your plan", "you can keep your doctor", you willsave $2500

I just hope they kill Obamacare and start over, that plan was a POS from the get go.. We force people to buy insurance or pay fine and still we have to bail out the insurance companies, how is that even possible...

The subject line gives the impression Trump is capable of a well thought out, non-reactionary plan.
