Yes, it's HuffPost, but still insightful.

quote:

“I will try things the Washington way first,” Trump had told his inner circle when he first named Priebus chief of staff, according to the confidant of Scaramucci and Trump. The implication was clear: If the Washington way did not work, then the New York real estate way would take over.

Now that the Washington way has failed, I think we're about to see Trump go scorched earth.

Let's see if that New York real estate way can actually get any legislation passed. In guessing not.

Well he's still got a long way to go before that.

Trump is learning the hard way you can't run the corrupt government like a business. Government, and those who make it up, run themselves with a different set of standards and rules.

He should do everything by executive order. Would be entertaining to watch the melt.

You should probably find an online civics class. He's not king. The things he can do by EO are extremely limited unless he wants to overthrow the gov't and declare himself ruler.

The Washington way hasn't worked in a long, long time. The man doesn't have anything to lose really.

I have said I hope this is what he is doing by pushing whatever bill Ryan and McConnell present.

He really needs to say "the establishment way failed. We tried it. Rand, you're up."

But I doubt it.

Short term? Sure. Post 2018? Let's see how long it takes all of the GOPe and Dem establishment shitbags to change their tunes when Kid Rock takes a senate seat from a multi-term democrat senator in a "blue state" and a bunch of nobodies steal seats away from people whose jobs were secure a year ago. I'm guessing not very long.

It's all about '18, the msg will be, "I tried the Washington way and Washington wasn't willing to work with me. I need the voting public to vote people into Congress who are willing to work for the American people"

The smart way would have been to set up shop in the states of the no vote republicans when this whole healthcare thing was getting started and have rally after rally until the dissenters in the party came around to supporting a bill they supported 2 years ago.

Yup. All the leftist tools here who think he's failed don't seems to realize that TRUMP hasn't even begun to fight. He's threw out and olive branch to the GOPe and let them try it there way first.

Now it's The TRUMP Way!

Serious question, how often does genuinely conservative legislation pass anyway? The ball only moves one way.
