SAN ANTONIO — A woman walking a white-tailed fawn on a leash at the Alamo is now facing charges.
Alamo security called Bexar County game wardens after seeing the woman, who game wardens deemed “too fond of the fawn.”
The warden learned the woman, who came to the Alamo to take Fourth of July family photos, picked up the baby deer on the side of the road.
While the warden tried to explain state law that forbids possession of game animals, the woman would not listen and became very upset, the department says. The fawn was seized and taken to a licensed Texas Parks and Wildlife rehab.

Oh no, how will society recover from this heinous act?

I'm really surprised this is a law. Pet squirrels are illegal? Pet rabbits? Pet duck?

Only thing we need now is a prostitution sting to make society a truly safe place.

I'm not trying to take the police's side here, but on what planet is she going to be able to care for a full blown deer? Atleast on the side of the road, it still had a chance to learn how to live.

Why is this in the interest of the people to arrest her again?

I know right? The rediculousness of a Wildlife agent enforcing a wildlife violation.

If she was fricking the baby deer in public, that would be in florida

You can't have people snatching animals up off the street and raising them as pets. That is harmful to the species in several ways.
Then again in this case, I think you take the deer, write her a warning citation and move on.

They tried to just warn her and she bitched a fit

I'm pretty sure she was arrested for being stupid. You don't put a deer on a leash.

Nowhere does the article say that.
Maybe it was abandoned and she raised from birth to keep it alive? It just feels like there's more to the story than the article indicates. The fact is that it is illegal to have a pet deer and maybe the deer was rightfully seized.

This is easily the worst thing that's ever happened at the Alamo
