Anyone you know have a MarcPro you can borrow? That thing is amazing on this type of injury.

I'm actually spending the weekend with a buddy of mine that is a Crossfit coach and he said he had something that will fix me up.
Maybe that's it

Anyone who deadlifts is going to tweak their back at some point. It's just the nature of the game. We're imperfect beings and we'll either push it too far or lose focus at some point.
You'll be back in no time.

High reps are not advisable on that lift.

Deadlifting is all about proper form. I can just about conclude the OP got injured not using his legs and picking up the weight using his back.

Well yeah. But if you're telling me that you're this perfect being and have never lifted once with questionable form, well I'm just going to call you a liar. It happens.
Even pros throw their back out.

Yeah it's retarded. The guy can barely bench press 200 lbs and is 33 years old. What's deadlifting gonna do for him now?

Stop trying to be a bunch of tough guys. Deadlifts are not some new lift, it's just a recent fad that became popular with xfit. The benefits for a mid 30's guy are not worth the risks.

Nope you are correct. I have been a powerlifting for over 30 years. Won a meet or 2 in my weight class. Yep, I have had bad form once or twice. In fact, I have really fricked up my back, that's why I recommended trying to have good form. Good form will keep you from these problems. Carry on.

I think the benefits are worth it. Strong back/core is one of the main components for having a strong, healthy body.
I'll continue to do DLs at lower weight until I know I'm stronger. It was my fault for trying too much, too quickly.
And I have no idea of the relevance of me only being able to bench 200 lbs.

if it keeps recurring, I'll probably stop and then you can say you told me so

So what's your ideal workout that can't have injuries? Machines only?
Posted on 7/27/17 at 2:15 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
Don't try to educate me on the lift. I'm talking from experience. When did I say no injuries? I asked the purpose of the lift and he answered with core development. I accept his answer but he can develop his core a lot safer than DL's.

But he can do deadlifts and be safe at the same time if he keeps his form tight and doesn't overload with to much weight.
