Any one ever heard of this? What would one be worth? 7.62 x 54 or would it be 7.62 x 56?

Heard of it but really have no idea of the value.

It's a varient of the AK. I thought there were all 7.62 x 54
Quick google search tells me that if it's the real deal it could be worth a bundle.

If it's a kit, then still worth a little but nowhere near as much as a real one

If I put a scope on my Ruger 10/22, does that make it a sniper rifle?

Sorry, just can't stand that term. A rifle is a rifle, and a scoped rifle is a scoped rifle. A trained sniper may use a rifle with a magnified optic but that doesn't necessarily make it a "sniper" rifle. Sniper's rifle would make more sense.

As far as the Dragunov, as others said, authentic ones are very expensive.

A genuine Russian dragunov is very valuable and a typical Russian piece of equipment. Extremely durable and a bit crude.

I think they're 7.62x54R?

It's a big heavy ugly arse rifle.

If it's a Century Arms it is likely a Romanian PSL and not a Dragunov. They used to be relatively inexpensive but the value has gone up quite a bit on the PSL in the pst few years. With the scope they regularly go for $1200 ish.

Depends.

7.62x54 is the "long" Soviet round and is the Mosin Nagant and Dragunov round. 7.62x56 doesn't exist - it's metric for the British .303. 7.62x39 is the traditional "short" Soviet round found in AK-47 and SKS. 7.62x51 is NATO's militarized version of .308 Winchester round.

Hope this helps.

Like others have said if it's a real deal one they are pricy. Could be a PSL...if so it's not worth as much. Watch out tho because they also sell kits to turn a VEPR into a replica. I have a vepr 7.62x54r (20") that I was going to do that too. The real ones are 23 or 27" I think. They all will be stamped Russia...and for the record vepr, the last Russian AK that was skirting sanctions, have all been banned from import recently.

Dragunov site

If you're looking for a piece of cold war history, it's pretty neat. I bought my NDM-86 back in the 90s. Haven't seen one in person other than mine in years.

FYI, the Romanians did not make true dragunov but PSL which people sometimes refer to as dragunov. The Yugos are not real dragunovs either but M76.

I actually have one. There are only around 2500 that were imported to the states and their importation is banned so the value skyrocketed. In good condition with matching scope they will fetch close to $5000 in 7.62x54R

ETA I have a Norinco NDM-86

It was my favorite sniper rifle when I was playing Call of Duty. Hope this helps.

IIRC the original Dragunov scope was actually based on the average height of a man who was 6' and the sniper would adjust based on his target's profile.
