You are confusing optics with ability.

You don't like it but he can.

the AG can but in this case it would be the deputy AG since Sessions believed he had to recuse himself.

Trump can't directly fire Mueller. The special council chain of command is only directly to the AG which is Rosenstien since Sessions had to recuse himself.

Why is it hypocrisy that they decided that the good of the country outweighs personal vendettas once the election was done?

Trump technically cannot fire Mueller. Rosenstein can and take one guess who Rosenstein's boss is...

I am not saying any of this is true. But if Mueller is replaced with a more independent investigator-it would not be a bad thing. Mueller being BFF's with Comey disquals him for starters. Comey outright saying that he leaked to the NYTimes to get a special council on Trump was surreal as it paints a perfect conflict of interest in Trump's favor. When both political parties went gaga over Mueller a red flag should have gone up. He is adored by the establishment butt boys.

Cruz as AG would be great just to watch the melts.

There is no more "independent" investigator. Mueller's rep is unimpeachable. Trump fans will find fault with anyone leading this investigation. Period.

Exactly. There's a reason why there's been no GOP on the hill questioning Mueller as SC

so hiring Clinton lawyers and an arsenal of Democratic donors to investigate Trump is "independent"?

I'm sure Hillary wouldnt mind a special council made up of Trump lawyers and Republican donors, amirite?

How much money would people pay to watch the look on HRC's face when Cruz is announced as AG?

Angel already outlined a few good reasons to can him

It's worth noting that all of the lawyers on his team are left wingers that donated to Hillary

how 'unimpeachable' would a team of lawyers ran by Trey Gowdy that all donated to republicans and Trump be to investigate let's say, HRC?

also, Mueller's conflict of interest regarding someone in the case-Comey.

Ya for optics that is true which Mueller should've considered but as far as Mueller's reputation that is unquestioned as being independent and loyal to the law and not political affiliation. He's a Repub

DOJ regulations state that the AG "may remove a special counsel for misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, or for other good cause, including violation of departmental policies," and must "inform the special counsel in writing of the specific reason for his or her removal.

Mueller clearly made himself a non-objective investigator when he advised Comey prior his senate testimony. That is grounds enough for removal.

Everyone also seems to forget that McCabe and Comey are under DOJ IG investigation.

Like Trump himself?

Lawyers are left leaning, and Mueller (like Trump) has spent his career working in left leaning areas, so the people he's worked with and trusts are likely to be reflective of that.

And what's most ridiculous about this is that Comey was a Republican most of his life. So party affiliation is a desperate and pathetic excuse.

God himself could be leading the investigation, and some of you hacks would question his integrity because "can you really trust a guy who sent his son to die?"
