What era are they going to cut the grass and tennis balls are we using?

I am a huge Fedtard and never liked Pete (but I do appreciate him now). I truly believes Pete's A+ game, especially at Wimbledon, is half a notch better than Fed's. You just flat couldn't touch his serve some days, like the 1999 final against peak Agassi.
Some of this might come down to '90's grass (faster) versus '02-present grass (recipe was changed and the courts slowed down a bit). Pete has a better net game, Fed is probably a better all around game (though Pete was no slouch from the baseline and did blow Agassi off the court from the baseline some days).

This. And for the other thread, this is another reason why Nadal had any success on grass.

Good analysis
I grew up watching Sampras and while my nostalgia tinted glasses will have me believing Sampras would win a best of 7 I think it would be close.
Fed greatest all around tennis player though.
At least we can agree Sampras won in the wife department.

I know and as I have said multiple times Lendl would've hammered Cash and won a career slam. Lendl is the inventor/father of modern tennis.

If they play with the faster grass from the 90s, Sampras probably wins. At the top of his game his serve was untouchable.

Don't know why because they were both bang bang...but Mac was so much more fun to watch than Sampras...(and not the antics.)
I know a Mac vs. Borg movie is coming out but Mac vs. Lendle was my generation and so dynamic. Lendle was a baseline machine - always reaching for that sawdust...Mac was an artist.
Sampras was more power. Mac just played the angles like chess...and going against Lendle who just beat you into submission...it was a joy to watch. Mac said that he needed Borg and missed him but Lendle was probably Borgs heir.
But as for full mastery of the sport - it's Fed.

Lendl is my all time favorite player. He was a freaking cyborg - won over 90% of his matches in 5 different years. Back then I played up to 5 times/week and watched all of the big matches. Worshipped that guy. So sad that he never did get that Wimbledon victory. He had a hot wife too for an ugly dude.

Lendl completely remaking his game to win Wimbledon only to lose in Finals was horrific. Like stated above, if the new grass and heavier balls are introduced when he plays, he wins in Wimbledon easily.

Ok what if 90s grass and Roddick?
Would his serve be returnable?

Roddick was a big server.
Sampras' serve was possibly the greatest weapon in tennis history.
There's a big difference, and they shouldn't be compared.
