Hutch didn't start over big Jim Hubics

......hell, Hutch didn't start til after 1989. In 89, the tackles were Packnet and Hubics

And Jay Whitley at center, Chris Rich...

Man that line brings back memories. If Coach Mac would have stuck with 1 or the other QB, that offense could have been great. Bama was really good that year.
The Loss to UGA at home hurt, but nothing like that loss in Jackson to FREAKING MSU.
That was a killer.

That '79 team could have won the NC. Yet there were so many close losses. And the freaking loss to Tulane. That bullshite was the topping on the cake for a miserable record.
Best game ever in Tiger Stadium that year IMO.

Didn't mean to downvote you. Was trying to upvote this memory.
Those that didn't see Carson play have no idea what a monster this guy was.

Bordelon and big dude out of Eunice? That 97 line opened HUGE holes with decent passing offense. Cecil, Faulk, and Marley were awesome and had lots of big areas to run through.

Whitworth, Mawae, Faneca, McClure, Albergamo, Andolsek, Peterman and Pocic. (Pick the 5 starters and a few reserves)

BTW, Miles/Grimes totally wasted Pocic's LSU career by not recruiting an SEC caliber Center. Pocic should've been at Tackle or Guard his entire time at LSU.

Hutch NEVER started at LSU. I doubt he ever lettered and he never stayed 4 years.

Nebraska pushed our OL around pretty good in the 87 Sugar Bowl.

they did better than the 85 team did against a bunch of corn fed juiced up kids from a football factory that cheated their asses off.

Hard to compare eras. Some of the GOAT LSU linemen would be too small for today's game.

2003 and it isn't close. That unit blew people off the ball. It was incredible.

I remember watching a game during that era and one of the TV commentators said of our OL unit, "those guys are so nasty, that they don't even like each other."

I played with Roger.....he did start. Not a mainstay but he did start.

You seem jaded, did you have a run in with Officer Hutchinson?
