But the 1988 Gator Bowl was impressive to watch. They destroyed USCe. That line plus Wendell Davis and Co. was actually one of the best LSU squads.

10-1-1 #4 ranking

That was the year (1987) Andolsek went after Eric Kumerow of Ohio State at the coin toss. Epic battle between he and Chris Speilman. Chris said when they collided, he thought to himself "this is the strongest human I have ever met"

Hard to compare eras. Some of the GOAT LSU linemen would be too small for today's game.

it is not just size but strength also. In 1987 only two guys on the whole team could bench press 465 or more. Nacho and Andolsek. I remember when that was posted in a preseason annual or newspaper. It was in reference to having to get stronger. andolsek was listed at 275, nacho at 257. keith melancon back in 1985 or 86 was listed at 237 and he played left guard but most everybody was 250 or more then.

I will go with 2003. I have a pic of Saban sitting between Whitworth and Peterman? from the Monroe newspaper before the game.

The look on their faces was of a knowing they were going to stomp some Sooner butts. Sly grins, contempt, all built into their faces. Wish it was not from a newspaper or I would copy it and hang it on the wall.
