Agree with both points.

Woj doing some Sunday conversation type thing with Paul George was just weird to me.

Does Woj slap the floor when he breaks a story?

Why does it even matter who breaks the news anymore. It goes on twitter and gets retweeted. You don't get any life points for that.

Woj mattered because he was so reliable. The moment he tweeted something, it was fact.

Yeah, I had to turn off the Twitter notifications on Woj. I don't care that you're going on SportsCenter or have some conversation with this player. Give me rumors and news and that's it

Yeah and honestly I didn't even know what he looked like for the longest .He was this mysterious dude on twitter that constantly scooped all the big name reporters with anything basketball related.

Now it seems like his face is all over ESPN any time I turn on my tv.

And it's classic ESPN to pay huge money for the best player in the game only to play him at the wrong position.

I don't blame him. He's older, gotta get the money when you can. Chances are that the Spurs weren't going to win a championship this season anyway.

I thought Simmons was worth twice the amount of money he ended up getting.

The timing of these deals is everything. Maybe the Spurs did that intentionally, renounced his rights when all of the money dried up so they would have a chance at re-signing him.

He's going to be 28 years old and averaged 6.2 pts on 42% shooting and shot 29% from 3 and has never averaged more than 18 minutes per game in an NBA season.

He hustles and plays good defense but come on... he signed for like $7 million per year for 3 years. You thought he deserved TWICE that? $14 million per year for a 28 year old who can't shoot and isn't a scorer?

Simmons is gonna fall of the face of the earth away from Popovich. Of this I am sure.

Twice as much is probably a bit of hyperbole but yeah, I'm surprised at those numbers given what other guys that aren't that good have gotten this summer.

Haven't seen it posted but Tarik Black back to the Rockets after his stint with the Lakers. I liked Tarik as a high energy big off the bench

its not about who breaks the news on signings, but what occurs and who can be considered trustworthy to leverage for agents later.

Say you're andrew wiggins in a few years, Minnesota doesn't want to give you the max and tell you to go find your worth. I, as your agent, constantly leak to woj/sham that NY is giving you 20mil, LA is giving you 18mil, etc. Drive your price up because teams KNOW Woj/Sham are legit sources and I have to make a decision to give you the max or you're going to really leave.
