Do we still fire Micah Gibbs?

It's not terrible if it's his zone both ways
I'm responding to every post that says this. It's a fricking retarded belief. Calling strikes on pitches well outside of the strike zone is bad umpiring. Doesn't matter if neither team gets an advantage because of it.

Yeah old boy should be really embarrassed by still not adjusting to the strike zone in the bottom of the ninth. To throw a fit like that is silly. Swing the damn bat.

When a team's strategy is to keep the bats on their shoulders and win via walks, we call that "female genitalia ball".
I think Gilbert's first 5 strikeouts were called 3rd strikes. There is no excuse for that.
If the ump is wild, swing the damn bat.
No crying allowed.

When the umpire becomes the story of the game, he messed up.
I have no problem with the guy who missed the foul pole call, it's one honest mistake. He was not trying to make the rule his. The game before LSU had a runner called out at second when the replays showed he was out, it happens.
The umpire behind the plate intentionally expanded the zone (for both teams) and made his own strike zone. The fact he did it both ways is better than playing favorites, but it's bad impiring that an ump calling the college World Series either can't see the strike zone, doesn't know the strike zone, or knows it and decides on his own to make it bigger.

So, what's your fix?
Posted on 6/24/17 at 7:32 pm to D011ahbi11
I agree. Umpiring was horrible. I would have rathered a better strike zone so win could not be delegitimized at all.
On other hand, we can't take responsibility for bad umpiring.
I've seen many times when it has worked against us.
Just a part of the game unfortunately.

I wasn't suggesting a fix, just stating that the "As long as he's consistent" mantra is bullshite. If you're calling strikes on balls in the right handed batters box, you're doing a bad job. Regardless if you're giving it to both teams.
The fix would be to get better umpires or use technology for balls and strikes.

OSU had 5 hits over our two games. Stop bitching and swing the damn bat.

Delegitimized???
OSU had 5 hits in two games. Ain't nothing illegitimate about it. We kicked their arse.

It's still within range
Keep responding
You adjust period
I much prefer a wide strike zone than a freaking tight ump. Would piss me off far more. It's college baseball anyways. Even Ben McDonald is in favorr of much larger strike zone. He kept it consistent so you know how to adjust.
It's up to you to play to it. Period. Stop making excuses. It's crap if it's not consistent you don't know how to adjust. Again this isn't pro ball.

Ump isn't the story of the game
We outhit them period with the same strike zone. We went yard multiple times. They did once.
Btw the call from the prior game was a bigger story.
They flat out got beat today. On the field, not by the ump. By the better team.

It's a shame their elite pitchers can't take advantage and hit the same spots as us
It's so ridiculous to whine over an ump who is consistent both ways
It's crap when they aren't and he was
You knew what to expect. Can't help they aren't as good at pitching or hitting today

College zone probably should be bigger than MLB but
I dont care what you and Ben Mcdonald are in favor of. This is never a strike
Consistent or not, calling that a strike is an embarrassment and it's bad for the game.

If you don't like an umps zone then be in favor of robot officiating if some sort of calamity. We have human umps to call their zone. If he establishes it early and even both ways then it's a fair game both ways, period. That's all I ever ask for every game and we got it so I had ZERO complaints. Even early on before we had a lead.
What's more frustrating is when they are tight and you don't greet certain calls that the other team may have gotten. That ish stinks!
