Why didn't Ossoff just move to the district?

There is no doubt that was a big issue for a lot of people.
With all the money the idiots spent on the race, could he not just switch to a new apartment in the GA-6?
I'm glad he didn't, but this seems like more self-inflicted wounds for the democrats.

valid question.
You would think, at the very least he would have signed a lease on a place to move into the district prior to voting day, even if it was too late to register.
I'm not sure if he would have won regardless though.

Maybe I'm wrong as I don't live in the area, but I really don't think it was that big of a deal. He grew up in that district, and only lived a few miles outside of it. It probably influenced some votes, but not enough to swing the election.
Him being a Dem and getting so much money from outside groups are why he lost. He had an uphill battle to begin with, and the outside money didn't help.
And he did say he would move to the district had he won.

Because he is following his woman around while she pursues a career.

I heard him say the move wasn't convenient for his girlfriend.
As previously stated.....arrogance

Because then his wife would have had to DRIVE or take public transportation to her Emory Med School classes. Do you have any idea the kind of stress that could put on a person? Shame on you!

Since when the left play by the rules?

What a colossal waste of money Dems
Any takeaways from the exit polling?
This is boding very well for the mid-terms already

I'm laughing my Ossoff about yesterday's election.

To be frank, I don't think he would have fared much better if you could just say "he moved into the district just to run"
Also to add... the guy was so clearly pandering on his message, caving to pressure on this issue when he had a decent explanation as to why may have done more harm than good.

Did not matter. Still looking for that answer for failure and missing the whole forest.

I think it was an issue. Ossoff himself even said it was during the primary. It made it even worse when his campaign was claiming he was only 3 blocks outside the district when it was actually over 3 miles. The reporter who tried to walk from his house to the nearest point in the district made it more of an issue by showing them to be lying about it. Also, they tried to flip it on Handel by saying she was not from GA and was born in DC yet she has lived inside the district for 25 years. Her question to him in the debate "Who are you going to vote for in this election?" was brilliant. Because he was forced to say he couldn't vote because he didn't live in the district. She was a terrible candidate overall but that scored points and was shown on the news over and over.
