Adios Jrue

Jrue changed agents to his brother Justin's agent so they could try and sell themselves as an overpriced package deal to some team.

I just think that what you see is what you get with Dante and there's little chance of improvement in his shot or his handle...what if you could get just a tiny bit more drive and finish and/or corner three at the same money?
really depends on the money but if they go into the season with dead roster spots in the front court with qpon/ajinca/asik again then they can't roll out hill and Cunningham. hill doesn't seem to impact game play consistently but there's the hope that he could, given the investment. I don't think they have the luxury to settle for Cunningham if there's another roll of the dice out there

One thing about Cunningham is he's the only player that semi consistently seemed to score off cuts which Finch should be adding more of that to the offense. An upgrade would be nice but his ceiling may b a little higher than you think because of the Point Boogie offense.

maybe so
on another note, is Justin holiday any good?
I'd be lying if I said I've watched him play

Diallo would appear to be able to fill that void for nickels on the dollar

I think Justin Holiday is in that tier of 20-25 MPG 3 and D wings. If you can get him for $5 or less it's ok, any more than that and you're the team that overpaid for a middling 3 and D wing.

dirk and mavs agreed to decline his option
it'll be interesting to see what he signs for as that will go a long way towards legit interest in holiday(s) by them

Even with Dirk on minimum deal or exception they have 21 millions in cap space.

jrue and Justin together gonna be at least 25
I think they are at 22MM space without dirk
I don't see it honestly
if it's mavs they are gonna want to move a contract, and if it's minny they'll want to move Rubio. if I were jrue's agent I'd be facilitating a potential trade and not just fishing for offers as it seems

I think (hope) we get either Rubio or Matthews. Could get both I think
Posted on 6/25/17 at 1:22 pm to cgrand
I think the only way they get both holiday brothers is they will have to do a sign and trade with Wes Mathews. I don't think many ppl will want to take on Mathews contract for nothing
Posted on 6/25/17 at 1:32 pm to BSB1988
Matthews would start here
So would Rubio obviously
I'd be ok with either, if it's Matthews then go sign Lin or collison
if it's Rubio then go sign a wing and/or a 3pt specialist

HP Basketball has been tweeting about Justin. Seemed to have a pretty good season last year by their tone.

I think managments top priority next season has to be Playoffs. If Pelicans make Playoffs, it would be Boogie's 1st time - hard to see him leaving after that. (Considering Jrue and AD would be locked up too).
Jrue and Justin are probably are best shot at making the playoffs. The problem is they probably have a ceiling of a 2nd round exit.
I still fall down on the side that Jrue (barring major injury) wont be so bad that he is untradable. So I would run this back for 2 years and see what happens. Then try and trade all my chips in for a third star after that.

If anyone is in the mood to be discouraged, 5dimes has opened a line on the Pels odds of making the playoffs this year...and let's just say it's not good.
New Orleans Pelicans won't make playoffs: -270
For those unfamiliar with betting and moneylines, basically it means Vegas gives us about a 73% to MISS the playoffs this season. For comparison, the Wolves have the same odds right now to MAKE the playoffs.
Hopefully either Vegas is way off or this line drastically changes after free agency

Jrue walking has to be priced into that.

Two top 15 players.
They have 50% chance of making it. Holiday returns and that goes up.
If All 3 play 70+ games they are getting in
