If we eliminate Florida State and move into the "final 4," would you be satisfied even if we go on to lose to OSU? Honestly, I don't see us beating them once let alone twice. Obviously I want us to win it all--who doesn't?--but a top 4 finish would be the furthest we've made it since 09, and I think I'd be okay if that's all we could manage. Just my opinion. Thoughts?

Why not? Because we walked 13 batters last night? Don't take into account last nights game. We can easily beat these guys

ETA: It all depends on how we take this loss. I'll let you know tomorrow night

Not good enough. This is a good team, when they put it all together, they can be great. You don't get to Omaha and call going 2-2 "satisfying". I'm happy we're in Omaha again but this team needs to flip a switch and get it going again. It'll be disappointing and surely not "enough" to eliminate FSU and then fall to OSU again.

Don't walk 13 batters, and last nights game probably only ends 4-1 and is much easier to swallow.

This team can do it, lets see how they handle the adversity.

Short of winning it all and also firing CPM, I think most of the Rant would accept a top 4 finish once the initial melt resides.

That kind of beatdown is hard to recover from mentally. CPM had better get into those boys heads with the quickness.

You have to be proud of Top 4
A team like Oregon St doesn't come along often and they are even doing it without their ace which is even more impressive.
I just wish LSU could develop the arms at the bottom of the pitching staff for when you need them.

It will suck to lose to the eventual champion two years in a row!

I still think we can beat them twice. They put up 13 runs on us......YOU DON'T FORGET THAT! Guess what? Those runs are gone and spent by Or St, but not forgotten.

I just hope we don't look past Fla State. That is my biggest concern right now.

We have already won an SEC Regular Season championship, an SECT Championship, a regional championship, a super regional championship and are in the last 6 remaining out of 300 teams. If that's not enough to make you feel proud about the state of the program IDK what is. Sometimes you run into teams that just have the better day.

Win or lose this week I've enjoyed following the Tigers this year and I hope their legacy isn't one that makes people in the least bit upset about the finish.

As much as I want to see a CWS win, LSU is ranked #4 so a top 4 finish would technically be meeting expectations.

Personally I think it's a lot easier to get over a game like this than losing by a walkoff. If it was any other sport, I'd agree with you but baseball is a game that you can get dominated one day and turn the tables the next. Our big problem now is not last night's beatdown but the lack of pitching depth, especially if Walker can't return. They need to let that game go and get focused on the next one. I think we come back strong tomorrow. What happens after that is anybody's guess.

This sounds like the Les Miles mentality...thanks but no thanks.

Exactly. Rarely does a team win after walking that many batters. After the run we've had, we were kinda due for a clunker. OSU is due for one as well. Hopefull we get to see them again.

After last night, no

Beat FSU, and go 1-1 against OSU with both games going down to the wire and I'll be satisfied.

Forget about winning a NC at this point. I just want to watch LSU play well in Omaha, which I haven't seen going on 8 seasons now.

Enough, in the sense that this has been a very good year, whether they win it all or not. Enough, in the sense that idiots calling for Manieri to be fired are idiots.

Our boys were whipped yesterday, and they are down. Hopefully they have the internal fortitude to go out and play lights out against FSU and come away with a win. Obviously, they must take one game at a time. It is reasonable to believe Poche will do well and pitch deep into the game.

If they're fortunate enough to win that game, then it's Lange against OSU. With Lange you always have a chance. I agree, beating OSU once, much less twice, would be a tall order. I'd say, if we haven't burned up Hess in the process of beating FSU and OSU, start him in the 2nd OSU game. Who knows? But first things first, focus on FSU.

Do you think we lost because we gave up 13 runs? Because we lost after the first 2.

Pasta Sauce has lowered the expectations of the program for his own self-preservation.

Depends on how it goes.

Play well and win comfortably against FSU then lose a competitive game to OSU it will be a pretty good season.

PLay like crap and scrap out a win against FSU and get spanked against OSU I will remember the terrible finish before the top 4 finish.
