Nothing...at least around here. They didn't go to work, but all got their back pay last time they had a big shut down.

I would've loved to hear Dick Cheney tell Patrick Leahy to "go frick yourself" on the Senate floor.

Dealing with Democrats is like dealing with Iran. You can only give, give, give....and they can't wait to stab you in the back....

They are giving the republicans a win on a platter. Do they have the balls to win?

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this weekend. Under the new ACHA because of her pre-existing condition she would not be covered. She would go to the market and her premiums would be to high to afford, because she is not 65. My dad is 65 and she could not be covered under the new ACHA.
It may not affect you, but until it does you may not care. They have been loyal republicans their entire lives. This is not the right bill to help. I may not agree with the ACA, but this would bankrupt or let my mother die.
There is something in the middle and we should not let polical views determine someone's life.
I have cried, punched walls, yelled, and prayed. Until this weekend I wasn't for sure how I felt about healthcare laws.
My parents are youth leaders at church and my grandfather was a preacher and the ACHA is not something that we should support until pre-existing is part of the bill.

It's awfully cute that y'all think Republicans and Democrats are any different. Keep licking the nuts of the corrupt two party system.

You don't know shite. I don't care what party anyone is affiliated with. The right thing to do is the right thing. I voted for republican president since 1992. I don't like Trump, Obama, Bush, and don't like HRC.
It doesn't matter who is president. What matters is how our congressman/congresswoman votes.
ACHA sucks

I'm sorry for what your family is going through, but this is the problem of why we get big Govt.
Look at reality, she has stage 4 cancer. Odds are even with treatment she still dies, it only buys her a little time. The taxpayer shouldn't be responsible for footing that bill. Nor should healthy people have to endure higher premiums due to a pre existing coverage requirement.
People get sick and die. It sucks but it's part of life. If you are fortunate enough to do well enough for yourself to afford to buy yourself more time then good for you. If not, it's not anyone's else's responsibility other than charitable donations from good Samaritans to pay for it.

Your parents were 65 and they had no insurance? They relied on Obamacare to get insurance after your mom was diagnosed with a horrible cancer?
This is not responsible life-planning.
eta - covering pre-existing conditions is not insurance = it is welfare.

Of course there is but that ship sailed decades ago. The Dems wouldn't sit down with the Reps at gun point & vice versa.
Sorry to hear about your Mom....prayers sent

You do realize that when Bush was in his last year of President the Dems would not allow him to appoint judges, right? So, for the left to throw out Garland every chance they get is pretty hypocritical.
When George W. Bush was still president, Schumer advocated almost the exact same approach McConnell is planning to pursue. During a speech at a convention of the American Constitution Society in July 2007, Schumer said if any new Supreme Court vacancies opened up, Democrats should not allow Bush the chance to fill it “except in extraordinary circumstances.”
“We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer said, according to Politico. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.” During the same speech, Schumer lamented that he hadn’t managed to block Bush’s prior Supreme Court nominations.
Notably, when he made his remarks in 2007, Bush had about seven more months remaining in his presidential term than Obama has remaining in his.
Dems still being hypocritical. They always want their way

Slow down from what? The Dems can't slow things down any more than they already have.
