I always dislike storms, however I have taken from Tuesday to Sunday off to fish with friends form college all of whom are out of state. We all took off work and they are all flying in tomorrow night to stay in Venice.

Looks like we have spectacular weather to fish in the whole time now...

:banghead:

Literally every trip I have made since April has had awful conditions I can't remember a summer like this.

Did you not get enough sympathy on the OT when you made the same post there?

I've had shite weather every trip I've been on this year. Happy I was able to get some good fish boxes most the time. Whodat and I were discussing the other day that we'd rather have extreme heat and no wind vs the shite we've all been fighting this year.

I'm with y'all on that one. I drink enough water and fish quick. But can't do shite with this wind. It's beautiful weather and calm and then I plan to go fish and the weather does a 180

Story of the year.

Tide charts weren't even correct this past weekend. We tried fishing out front and our baits were going out on "incoming tide"

What are you plowing under?

This is an aggravating year, fishing wise...wet during the week and dry on the weekend. Can't farm while wet.

Hammer, if that storm heads to the west side of the state, once the high water drops out of Venice, there is always a super hot redfish bite.

Gotcha, seemed like an odd time of the year for tillage with a traditional row crop.

I know two rice farmers that gave it up in the last three or four years. One guy didn't have the acreage to keep it going, the other just didn't see the returns and left for a steady plant job.

It's land that we harvested last year, is set aside this year and will plant agin next year. Plowing as many times as possible is best weed control.

Yes prices are atrocious right now

Nope I sure didn't!

I am so damn frustrated with the weather I've had to fish with all year. With a week off I figured a few days would be good looks like the whole damn trip will be a shitshow!

Oh well I'll have lots of foood and booze we will manage.

We are supposed to be coming down Thursday night and fish thru Sunday, 2 boats. We were going to get our 7 person 3 day limit of the elusive red snapper. Doubting those plans now.

Thursday South winds 20 to 25 knots. Seas 6 to 10 feet with occasional seas to 11 feet. Dominant period 8 seconds. Showers and thunderstorms.
Thursday Night South winds 20 to 25 knots. Seas 5 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet. Dominant period 8 seconds. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Friday South winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Friday Night South winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

I've had enough of the damn rain. Every time I have been out on travel, it's been great weather at home. Every weekend I am home, it's been crap weather. Losing my mind over it.

We have a bow fishing trip planned for Friday night. We are trying to decide if we should reschedule.

Definitely, no way I would pay to do any sort of fishing endeavor in that shite. Plus the water will be super high which is definitely not good for bow fishing.

Decision made man. It'd be a waste of money to even attempt it, and I doubt your guide would attempt it.
