I would not say that a catcher who can't pick up and throw a baseball and a pitcher who does not cover home plate or he still would have either been out or not run is anything but luck.
I would not say a right fielder who misses an easy out if he hits his cut off man and then a second high throw to the catcher who would have made an easy tag for the out is anything but luck.
Pressure creates luck. But I would say 9 out of ten 10 times both of those plays turn out differently.

They didn't make the key plays when the game was on the line and we did. I'm sorry, but that doesn't amount to "lucky" to me. Calling it luck cheapens it IMHO. But whatever you want to call it, we're in the winners' bracket

Exciting- yes
Good game - no
I don't think it was a good outing for us. However, if we can grind our way through some exciting games on the way to the title, then who will remember if we played great ball or not. Just keep winning. MLSUGA!!!

Kramer should have made the play easily? Why don't you get in touch and tell him so!
Good lord, leave it some POS Sports Bar Hero who likely never played at that level to crap on a great win.
For the record, Lange did not have his best stuff, but he battled and got 8 strike outs and helped keep them in the game.
Leave analysis to the experts who have been there before.

I always hate when some POS says we were lucky to win and trashes the team, yet they never made the sacrifice to actually be part of the team.

They were LUCKY to win. scored from first on a ridiculous error by FSU. 3 errors in what? The 7th or 8th inning by FSU? LSU hung in there and capitalized but that wasnt an impressive win.
What? You do realize that that's usually the difference between winning and losing a baseball game right? Which team plays well in critical situations.

Sure man I know that part of baseball is making less errors than ur opponent. How often do you see I guy score from first on an error? You think we can rely on our runs from those types of errors??How often are there three errors on one play. We won by a run. I understand baseball so when I say luck I mean they are very fortunate that fsu made those mistakes. Those are not normal mistakes. Those are self inflicted extra rare mistakes. Hope you realize that FSU was not great this year. I will take wins like that all the way to the finish but you can be a fan without ignoring the glaring weaknesses. This team has trouble manufacturing runs. I think it was the 6th inning when we were down a run or two and the FSU kid got out of the inning on 9 pitches(felt like 3 pitches). lol three tigers stepped up and swung at the first pitch. I understand that the decision to swing away was probably based on what that pitcher showed them earlier but that's my point. They were wrong. Diechman Took a cut at two curves and watched the changeup. The next two batters were just as impatient. I think this is a very talented team that underperforms. Why? Who knows? Maybe I overestimate the talent level. How many players were just drafted from this squad? 10? 11?

One home run, rest of runs where gifts by bad defense from FSU. If LSU played a good team last night they would haven lost. 1-5 in lineup only duplantis hit the ball.

You don't make it to the CWS if you aren't good

Lol so everyone wants to ignore the obvious huh? Lol alrighty. I'd love to know the age differences between the people worried about the glaring issues and the people here who think everything is grand and they are going to beat Oregon state with a performance like last night. Naive. All I'm saying is that they need to play better. How is that debateable. I grew up around baseball. Under the same roof as a pretty good coach. It's impossible not to see each game as a realist. Maybe that's just a coaches perspective ya know...to let the positives go and immediately worry about the problems because there is another game to be played against a very good team. I was very relieved to see them pull it out. Just thought they got some real breaks.

No one is saying we played a perfect game. We need a better outing from Walker than we got from Lange. Need a couple more hits in key situations (for the record, junk throwing lefties like FSU's starter have given us trouble all year). But I'm just not of the opinion that playing better defense in clutch situations than your opponent is luck. It's called being a better all-around team. FSU isn't a good fielding team and we put pressure on them to make plays and they didn't.

Someone that saw the game for what it was. Nice to see. Doesn't mean we hope they lose. Just not very impressive. The base running was fantastic. There's a positive.

Re-read my post. I didn't trash Kramer and explained what might have happened which was understandable. I didn't record the game but I'm pretty sure the analysts (experts) said that he should have had the ball. By "easily" he was a step away from 2nd so he could have made 1-2 steps tagged and fired to 1st.
I bet Kramer didn't think he had a great game either. Mom was even motioning that he chased a high pitch when batting. I'm sure he'll come back on fire Monday.
I didn't realize some of you were too sensitive to honest analysis.

No one said everything was grand.
A team making errors isnt luck. It's called not making plays in critical situations. A 1 run lead is a critical situation. If you claim last night as luck then just about every baseball win can be argues as luck.

What are you talking about? Our runs were off of their errors. What outstanding defense did we really play. It was a pretty vanilla game. I didn't see any defensive stand out plays. I thought from that perspective it was a pretty routine game. We kept it close and pulled it out in the end. I'm not rooting against them. I'm just not sure how anyone else that knows baseball can watch the game I watched and still chalk it all up to LSU just being better. They were fortunate. That's part of it. They need to play better. That's all I'm saying for the 3rd time.

Besides the 5-3-5 double play in the 7th? Come on dude we've been lights out defensively all year and last night was no exception.

Why do you keep saying this? No one is saying you're cheering against the team.

We played better defense, ran the bases better and our bullpen slammed the door.
