You make some good points, but what does this matter? LSU didn't bat in the 9th. They didn't get as many innings to manufacture runs as the other squad and beat them.

If LSU wins every game by 1 run here on out is it luck? Are they struggling to manufacture runs? Will the wins mean less now?

Or let's say LSU loses the championship by 1 run and had errors, do they deserve the trophy because the other team was lucky?

The best non-championship series game that LSU has played in Omaha was the 9th inning rally against Long Beach St. in 1993.
