louisiana sportsman has a ton of them for sale. so does craigslist. shouldnt be too hard to find one with a good motor.

ETA: what are you planning to use this boat for? fishing? just boating? Both?

I agree if you look around you can find a good used Alum Jon boat in the BR or Laf area.

The spillway rocked in the old people days of the 60', 70's, and early 80's. Back then it took over an hour to launch a boat when the spillway was right. A lot of these older guys are getting to the point they are passing on or cannot fish anymore. Now the trailer and boat engines may need some work.

You should be able to pickup a decent alum
Jon boat with trailer and maybe an engine that would not take much to get it up for $3,000 or less.

I seen an older (80's or early 90's) alum Jon boat package with Mercury for sale in a parking lot on Hwy 13 in Crowley for sale for a good price yesterday.

would like to do some fishing and exploring. i grew up on the lacassine bayou from Intracoastal to Lorraine Bridge, but definitely lack experience around the tugs we saw when i was in the basin. i want something durable mostly and it looked like thats what the locals were using.

ETA this is the style i am talking about, but admittedly have never operated one. let me know your thoughts and experiences homemade?

tell me the concept behind this design, if anyone can. thanks to all love this board
