My brothers and I pooled our money to buy Gitarzan by Ray Stevens. I was 11 and my brothers were younger. It must have driven my parents insane because we wore it out.

My first 45rpm I bought with my allowance was "Don't Do Me Like That"--Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I still have it. I even wrote the date I bought it on the outside sleeve...March 23, 1980.
I was 7 at the time, and this is about when I began my fixation with all things audio!
After this point, I never missed a tag-along with my dad to a record store or audio equipment store (he was into it as well).

My first 2 CDs were "Reach the Beach"--The Fixx, and "Star Tracks"--a well done digital sampler disc of John Williams' music from Star Wars and other space movies.
This was 1984. I had the Sony CDP-101...the first commercially available CD player...I cut a ton of lawns for an entire summer to pay for it!

Pretty sure it was Meet The Beatles followed shortly thereafter by High Tide & Green Grass - Rolling Stones. Junior High or early High School.
