So how many players will be on next seasons roster? How many players will be transferring? Any thoughts or ideas out there?

I'm sure we'll have a full squad. Did something salient happen that would lead to more than normal attrition? Granted, we've got an excellent pipeline but a few of the ladies will be very difficult to replace (i.e., Jaquish, Landry, Walljasper...)

I agree it will be hard to replace Landry and Jaquish. However with all of the chatter on here something must be brewing. Too many people seem to act like they know what is going on. People knowing players and family members. There must be some truth to the talk. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure. There's been 4 actual names thrown around and hinting of others that will be transferring and getting away from Beth. I love our lady Tigers and would hate to see it happen.

I'm not on here to bash Beth. I am on here concerned about the team as a whole. As a fan it is disheartening to see all of the chatter on here about so many players wanting to leave and get away from her. So you would have to ask the players what is wrong with Beth and why there is so much talk about them wanting to leave her. This is the most talk I have ever seen on here about unhappy players wanting to leave the Lady Tigers. One thing people fail to recognize is that stuff gets leaked all the time in sports. So once again with so much chatter out there I just wonder how much of it is true and will end up happening.

Happens at every school every year. Just a bunch of people of this forum who like to stir the pot and make it worse than it seems. Lots of drama on this site.

I'm assuming from previous threads that some of the girls were pissed about not getting any playing time.

This tends to happen in every sport at every school.

This happens everywhere where there may be some unhappy athletes. I do think people are blowing things way out of proportion and are pot stirrers. In the end, it causes way too much drama.

That's what you say today...
quote:

Mulerider is right. Numbers don't lie. The problem is Beth . She can't properly evaluate talent other than pitchers. Beth HATES native Louisiana players. Here is a prime example. A quote from rolltide.com "Hemphill, a native of Lafayette, La., has started 45 of the team's 46 games this seaso...

But this is what you said a few days ago...

So which one is it? You can't have it both ways...

Hemphill went to an Alabama camp in 8th grade and NEVER changed from her Bama commitment after that. Don't blame Beth for that one.

I get the vibe that there's a lot of "take it with a grain of salt" info when it comes to this shite. Sounds like helicopter parents that are unhappy with their kids' playing time.

We know Sydney Smith is transferring, and my guess.. just a guess.. is that she is going to Baylor. Radoni is there, and will be their pitcher next year.

Anyone who has watched Sydney Smith knows this...she is probably one of the most accurate pitchers in the country. She has a great, great attitude. Beth has TWO All American caliber pitchers coming back next year, and the chances of Sydney becoming number two are very slim.

No one will be surprised if Sydney Smith becomes an All American by the time she graduates. She has it all. Radoni will have to take a back seat to Smith, if she does indeed transfer to Baylor (again, which is a guess).

I would hope that everyone understands there is no need to villianize an athlete that transfers. It is how the system works.

We haven't seen Cunningham, and though we have seen Satchell, just a little bit, we have no way of knowing what is going on. If Satchell goes, then I hope she does well at her next school.

Beth will have to decide who she is going to start at second base and catcher, as well as right field.

The rest of it is pretty easy.

People unwittingly back themselves into a corner when they try to have it both ways. If Beth is a horrible judge of position talent, then she must be a great coach, two third place finishes, and a fifth place. Or, is she just a mediocre coach with players that go out and win games despite her horrible coaching?

Which is it? Cant be both.

Seems to me she has gotten the most out of each team she has coached. I dont buy that garbage about her not playing girls from Louisiana. What are you going to say if she puts Thornhill out in right field next year? Thornhill is probably better defensively in the outfield than anybody else on the team. She's no klutz, and if she gets her batting straightened out, I'd say she deserves a chance to start.

I do hope that they can come up with a lineup where Dawson can start, if she stays.

In the meantime.. I was thinking about retiring jerseys. I dont know anything about it...who has had their jersey retired in softball for LSU?

I'd retire Bianka Bell's, Jaquish, and Landry's. I'd make Quinn the grad assistant for next year.

Why start ANOTHER thread. You knew exactly where this thread would go. I'm tired of hearing about someone that has a grudge because either they think or their parents think they should have had more playing time. If the coaching staff can find out the root of all this negative crap on here, and it is a current player. She needs to kick that player or players off of the team. People like that are a cancer to a team
