A tool body pickup truck came across the median on I10 between the state line and the rest station. Missed a head on collision with him by inches.
Had a .308 bullet zinged by me one. No idea how close it really was, but it sounded real close.

Was taking down a chain link fence and we were screwing around and I stood on end one the top runners (about 20' long). In a split second "OH shite" moment, I let go right as it hit the power lines and tripped the fuse at the transformer.
Also, 2 weeks in the hospital from meningitis.

I've had a few close calls but the most interesting was when
I was walking back from lunch and was in the middle of the street at an intersection that had a red light. Two cars crashed in the intersection I was walking in and one spun around. Instead of running away I just froze and watched the car (it seemed like slow motion) until it stopped not knowing if it was going to hit me. It didn't hit me and I think I was in shock because I didn't even check on the people or anything I just walked back to work.

Phish tour that summer, followed by fall semester meant that I did a lot of acid. 10 strip Tuesday's were a regular thing back then. Some psychedelic rangers explore a little harder than others

I t-boned a 1/2 ton pickup in the rain going 55mph in a Altima. When I saw him pull out in front of me and try to cross both lanes, I thought I was done for.
On a side note, adrenaline is fuking awesome.

A couple of weeks ago, I was standing on my patio with my dog. Lightening hit so close to us, I felt it in my arms and chest. My dog jumped about 5 feet off the ground and sprayed pee.
Buthole puckered mightily.

I can't see Chuck Norris right now, so I'm only seconds away from death.

Driving in Chicago on an expressway. I changed lanes for no particular reason just before rounding a curve.
Traffic comes to a dead stop just around the curve. An eighteen wheeler slams into the guy next to me, in the exact place I would have been if I had not changed lanes randomly. Everyone in the car next to me decapitated, and it was a larger vehicle than I was in.

A car once ran a red light going at least 100 and trimmed the front of our car. The guy fish tailed but kept on going. If my brother-in-law had been half a second late on hitting the breaks, the guy would have t-boned us right on my side of the car.
I also once was face to face with a potentially pissed off 6'5" big red kanagaroo who I hought was about to kick my arse. Fortunately I had some bread in my hand which he accepted as a bribe not to kill me.

Discovered I am allergic to spider venom, after being bitten by a spider. Throat was swelling closed and I was gasping for every breath.

I've been rushed to surgery on a crash cart, with a priest giving the Episcopalian version of last rites. I still have nightmares about it, but the cool thing about being a 10/10 on the pain scale is, normal injuries just don't hurt as much.

Lost control of my car and hit 18 wheeler at full speed. My car did multiple flips and ended on the other side of the curb totalled and smashed.
Did not even have a bruise. The 10 seconds felt like an eternity.
