Amazon going hard after Wal-Mart's business. They want to be able to ship groceries to them.
PrimePantry can be amazingly cheap so I don't see this as a bad thing.

Walmart and Amazon have been in a sort of arms race recently, so this isn't surprising. Walmart has had free shipping for a while, and now they have curbside pickup of your stuff you order online.

Potentially smart move by Amazon to expand their customer base but if the membership fees for everyone else increases in the future, those customers have a legit complaint that they are subsidizing freeloaders.

As a Prime user, I just tweeted Jeff Bezos and asked if he is going to subsidize their manicures, cell phones bills and cigarettes too. What a crock!!

I'd rather see this discount go to senior citizens who would benefit greatly from it.

My college email is still active and I still use it for discounts on Amazon($50), NFL Sunday Ticket($100), and AT&T(15% OFF).

OH NOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZ

You can literally call and bitch for 20 minutes and get it for free. Stop getting offended about nothing.

ETA: Paid $3500 for a CPA review course that is given free to Big 4 candidates because their company has a deal with Becker. In effect, I subsidize them. :wah: :wah: :wah: :wah: :wah: :wah:

Though the folks at DG in my area are better dressed than at Wal-Mart.

I don't doubt that he gives you plenty of reasons to hate on him, but is this really one of them? Seems like this is extremely elementary price discrimination. Charging poorer patrons a lower price is hardly a new practice.

Move along, nothing to see here

Same outcome, about as communist as it comes. Pay different still.

I don't think people realize how communist this is.

Is Amazon a government entity? It seems as if they own their own means of production. You sure you know?

You clearly aren't much of a thinker. It is the essence of communist tendencies in such a policy. Of course it's not a government.

In communist governments the idea of everyone having the same outcome is the staple of the policies that are enacted.

Communist ideas can exist on many different levels not just a government level. Thought this was obvious.

If you think that this instance of price discrimination 101 is actually an example of communism, then you certainly don't.

Well some communist ideas sound good in theory, but are terrible when implemented by the GOVERNMENT.

Some of those ideas can be effective when done through private or non-profit means (charities).

But I'm not sure how this is a communist idea since it is an aspect of capitalism.
