Thats ok. But are you aware that 95% of people would disagree with you....??? You just gonna claim that youre that much more intellectual than everyone else? Or admit that smthg like Birdman that critics fawn over isnt really that great to the majority of moviegoers??

Ok? So fast & furious, avengers, and transformers are better than Birdman, Room, Ex Machina, et al? Ok. "Ugh, people talk a lot in this one, let's go see 2 fast 2 furious"

My response to the "critics are becoming snobs" stuff applies to you as well:

Critics are becoming snobs

I don't think that's it so much as a certain segment of the population enjoys bad, lazy movies and try to pass themselves off as representative of "general audiences" in order to make themselves feel better about liking bad, lazy movies.

That you honestly believe 95% of the population thinks the same way you do about this (or anything else, really) is nonsense.

Critics are snobs who think Bird Man is more entertaining than Pirates 5

Those dumbass critics hyping up the academy award winner for best picture, when clearly the 5th shitty movie in a string of shite movies is the better film.

This thought process ise the reason we see shite like pirates 5, fast and furious 15, and Mission Impossible 35. Bird man is an original idea. Something that is severely lacking in Hollywood.

I would add that I did like The Curse of the Black Pearl. Dead Man's Chest was alright.

Baywatch, kinda like Zoolander 2, waited way too long to be made. Probably would've done well 15-20 years ago.

King Arthur wasn't bad at all. Didn't deserve to bomb like it did.

I also think Baywatch is a victim of dramatic tv shows remade into comedies. I know at least I am getting fairly sick of it. 21 Jump Street, Chips, and of course Baywatch come to mind right away.

You could probably lump in Starsky and Hutch into the mix, but it's been around a little while now

It's pretty simple for me. I usually never see a movie opening weekend. I check the scores after a week. If it's above 80 then it may be worth a theatre trip, if below in 65-79 range possibly a renter. Then there's the added variable of how much it will pop on big screen.

Have zero fricks to give about critic review. If it's a witty movie then it's going to be comprised mostly of that audience anyhow.

I learned quite a while ago to ignore what critics have to say, and maybe more importantly I ignore what wanna be critics have to say.

Pirates 5 and Baywatch aren’t built for critics but rather general audiences

I usually go off the audience score on RT anyway just for this reason.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. RT is simply a data compilation service. What is awful about it, exactly?

I don't know why anyone wanting to pay to go see either of those movies would give a shite what the rotten tomato critic scores were anyway?

The target audience for these movies isn't a person who peruses and reads film criticism.

So this is a cop out by the studios.

I specifically said they may not be better movies but they are far more entertaining. Reading comprehension class for you too!

Pirates was a cash grab sequel nobody wanted

Baywatch was a Movie reboot of a moderately successful show about boobs and slow motion running on the beach. Nobody cares that much about the property, and I doubt there was much fervor about this at all. Strange that it was greenlit.

Dude if 95% of the population were excited about Pirates 5 it would be the highest grossing movie of all time

Even if 95% of regular moviegoers were exited about it then it would have killed

Newsflash: people want to watch good movies. Like fast food and beer and all sort of other things, what was passable 20 years ago isn't enough today. Mediocrity isn't cool anymore. And no your lame arse opinion is not the dominant one.
