Your honor, in the years Jordan played, the scoring average for the league was 103.84. In the years LeBron played, the scoring average for the league was 99.28.

Simple math isnt so simple for TOPAL your honor

Simple math, today the teams score more and play at a faster pace. So, you would assume the best scorer of his time would have a lot better stats if the past of play was faster. Look at college football today vs 20 years ago. I again, rest my case.
By the way I haven't watch one playoff game; I knew at the start of the year what teams would be playing for the title. Most of the NBA teams suck. You have a few players that can actually shoot at a decent percentage. So what if a 6'10" guy dunks the ball, is that skill?

This is wayyyyyyyy too obvious. Dial it back a little.

We saw what Jordan did in the 80s, we don't have to imagine what he'd do in a run n gun league with no defense.

Jordan was a sociopathic arsehole that was obsessed with winning ON HIS TERMS. His assists don't compare to LeBron's because he always elected to take a shot, no matter how cold he was, rather than make the smart basketball play. LeBron has been focused on helping his teammates and team succeed since day 1, even if it results in a skewed perception of his abilities. Which it has, because people refuse to accept that anyone but Jordan can be the GOAT at playing and understanding the game of basketball.

There are so many things in this that I can use to discredit you that I don't even know where to start.

This.

Woulda been interesting to see what LeBron would do in the same no defense NBA, considering he's put up similar numbers in today's game.

We can adjust for pace, but not for the style of defense. Adjusting for pace, LeBron's numbers improve per 100 possessions vs. their regular career per game averages, which we'd expect given the era.

Westbrook's 31.6 ppg led the league this year, but Jordan had 5 seasons over 31.6 ppg and averaged 31.5 ppg for his career in Chicago. However, Westbrook's points per 100 possession this year would be higher than every Jordan season except 1987.

LeBron would've put up massive numbers in the 80s, but he also might have had more difficulty staying healthy. There was no defense, but the league was a lot dirtier, and that's back when a little bit of cartilage damage could derail your career and one blown knee could end it. He plays a physical, bruising style of play that is only possible because of great leaps forward in medicine and the fact little shits like Danny Ainge can't intentionally undercut him in an effort to send him to the hospital.

I have no idea where this myth of pace being faster now arises.

This year did have a nice uptick in pace-- back to the highest level since 1992-1993. Its still 5-7 possesions per game slower than the 1980s.

Overall, Jordan played his career in a much faster paced game- 9 seasons with a faster pace than the fastest season of the LeBron era.
