No idea if true or not, but if so, that's the dumbest shite I've ever heard in my entire life. Literally. And I grew up in Tuscaloosa, so I've heard some dumb shite.

“To me, the campaign by certain groups to remove all the symbols and memorials to our Southern past amounts to the same thing…a desecration of graves. Every flag or monument that is removed, every plaque taken down, every school or street or bridge that is renamed, is no different from a broken tombstone. It is wanton and hateful violence directed at the dead who can no longer defend themselves.”
John Field Pankow

“To tar the sacrifices of the Confederate soldier as simple acts of racism, and reduce the battle flag under which he fought to nothing more than the symbol of a racist heritage, is one of the great blasphemies of our modern age”.
James Webb-Secretary of Navy And Assistant Secretary of Defense under U.S. President Ronald Regan and former U.S. Senator (D.VA.) (Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America, New York: Broadway Books, 2004, p. 225)

Why are you claiming this is a Gettysburg museum?

The liberals want to change history by eliminating what they feel is unjust and contrary to their agenda and beliefs. It has already begun with the rewriting of history books and the liberal views taught in the schools nowadays.

Myself, being a Viet Nam combat veteran, will not be surprised when I will be labeled a war crimes criminal, and Philadelphia, epicentre of where our country was founded ,is only known as the home of the cheese steak sandwich.

Where are all the people that have been saying that the removal of statues in NO is OK because that kind of stuff belongs in a museum? Do they still support this nonsense?

To anyone with common sense, this was coming sooner or later. You give the progs an inch, and they take a mile. This is exactly why you don't remove a statue to appease the ignorant masses. The idiots will not stop until a full out cultural war ensues.

At least I got to visit Gettysburg before these assholes ruined it. Of course, when these liberals do focus on Gettysburg, they will ignore the fact that the local economy is based on tourism. They will let the local families suffer just to continue their virtue signalling. But hey, at least minorities won't have to live in fear of a big, bad confederate battle flag being shown in a museum that has absolutely zero effect on their lives. That's worth an entire town losing its economy, right?

Little does he know.... The flag of The United States of America is way more emblematic of slavery, racism and bloody battles than the Confederate Flag will ever be.

This is about 10 minutes from where i live. I've been there many times to take pictures, and to witness Civil War Reenactments. It's a shame. It is a beautiful place, and the reenactments include participants living in tents and giving demonstrations of how the soldiers (North and South) lived in preparation of battles.

It's a Civil War battlefield, for gosh sakes. of course they will have a Confederate and an American flag flying there!

The Confederate Battle flag is germane to the exhibit and should remain in place at this museum. I'm so sick of a vocal minority of people running this country into the ground.

Not surprised:

I can see the Confederate Flag becoming THE FLAG of RESISTANCE and replacing the GADSDEN flag as the flag of warning.

That's pretty stupid. It's a museum, so they should fly the flag in historical context. This crosses the line. Unlike the statues.
