Should I make this SEO salesman come into work on Memorial Day?

summary: i get the classic "SEO marketing" call on monday and foolishly answer a call i shouldn't have (i thought 786 was a TX area code but it is for Miami). they do the spiel, i'm usually very nice to these guys and tell them i have an SEO company, they're cheap and do what i want, and i'm not interested. of course, the new guys tell me they're so much better blah blah blah". after doing the usual "google this exact phrase so you can see our clients are #1 in that exact phrase!" stuff, they want to schedule a time to talk bout me signing a contract. i say no way, i have to think about it, and it's unlikely. they schedule it and then have to reschedule it and i don't respond...eventually they give me the option to schedule it and my options are limited...so of course i pick fricking Memorial Day at 1030am (CST) to test this guy's heart and commitment to the game
he obviously didn't realize what was up and i JUST got this email: "I noticed our appointment is on Memorial Day. I have no problem following up on a holiday, but I just wanted to make sure and not interrupt your day off." yeah no way this guy is emailing me directly and insinuating that i made a mistake.
should i test him? make him blink? or should i reschedule and let him off the hook?

Schedule it... and don't show up.

Eh I just tell them no. I had the westlaw rep and lexis rep for our area wearing me out for about 2 months and I finally told them I just wasn't interested right now. They were cool about it.
The SEO salesman are a little tougher to get rid of though.

He will show up on Memorial Day so it's up to you whether you want to waste your time.

Why are you even scheduling this? Do you not value YOUR time?

How much does this guy want per month?
You should ask every SEO guy that calls if they know who Matt Cutts is. If they don't know, hang up.

Cold sales is a hard gig. I think you owe it to him to follow through.

$650/mo and like $3k for the magical optimization
and that's the cheapest option
these guys don't quit. i tell them that i've heard this same speech 20 times before and even call out their search terms (i search for something slightly different and their guy isn't #1 adn i'm like "i don't see it")....AND THEY STILL KEEP ON COMING
fricking dedication

i always follow through, but i'm answering a phone from home on a holiday...not going into the office to make that call

Reschedule. Thank him for pointing out the day and tell him you already have a 10:30 for that day so you want to reschedule for 1:30. This will put the screw to any type of plans he has for that day and will only cost you 5 minutes at noon to send an email canceling the appt.

Huh?

i've ever had a salesman say "hey i think you made a mistake when you scheduled this appointment" before. just insinuates i'm an idiot and makes the mark get defensive

I think it's just his way of saying HE didn't realize it was Memorial Day at the time y'all set it and would probably rather do another day, unless you REALLY want to do it then. I guess it just seems like you're reading too much into it. shite, I don't know.
