quote:

The executive director of the Beauvoir Estate in Biloxi, Tom Payne, said it only makes sense for the Jefferson Davis monument to end up there, and the museum would take the rest if the city agrees.

Beauvoir is where Jefferson Davis lived during retirement. The estate is about an hour and a half away from New Orleans in Mississippi.

Payne said the 52-acre estate has a museum where the monuments could be put in the correct historical context.

Mississippi has a higher regard for history than LA

That is just sad

If Mitch says no, you KNOW he's planning for some scratch from whomever will get them.

It would be hilarious if someone then turned around and bought the statues and put them on private property in NOLA.

I wonder if the people who erected the statues ever thought about how fricking stupid people would be just 100 years in the future

I've heard of that place but I had no idea that it was 52 acres. That is more than enough room to place these three statues. This is a wonderful idea.

I took a field trip to Beauvoir in the 8th grade. Are schools taking the little snowflakes-in-training there nowadays?

Beauvoir and Mississippi just want to hoard all the racism for themselves.

Mitch da Bitch said he can't put the statues at Beauvoir Estate because since 2005, Gulfport has been a more progressive city than Biloxi. Mitch decrees that the racist statues showed be stored in a place that shows the statues in a historical context, like museums, police junkyards, and city warehouses.

Great idea, but Mitch is too much of a worm to allow that. Maybe the next mayor.
