Pardon My Take

I'm a new listener to this podcast, and I was wondering if there is a backstory to why the lead in song is Eddie Grant and the exit song is some rendition of A-ha. Great podcast and funny as hell.

Well that's kind of the point

Pardon The Interruption + First Take = Pardon My Take

I think it electric avenue because it's going to be electric radio
Also it's a jam.
Take on me is definitely for the take part.

There isn't. They said a little while back that they randomly selected those songs in PFT's kitchen while recording the first episode.

We don't do that anymore. You should ask if he wants to partake in locker room talk instead.

I never knew where Jimbo came from...I just always thought it was Jimbo Fisher for something he did.

I have been listening for the last couple of weeks and I've been a fan of them

They explain this in one episode. It's from Jim Tomsula. Whenever he screwed something up, he'd say "That's a Jimbo".
edit: nevermind. you got that already.

Thanks for that. I always wondered what the "shout out Max B" thing was

Big Cat sometimes drops the "I took Omeka Okafor and Caron Butler.":
(via ESPN article):
5. The (in)famous Ryan Gomes quote, 2004: After the eventual national champion Huskies lost to Providence on Jan. 24, 2004, thanks in large part to Waterbury, Conn., native Ryan Gomes' 26 points and 12 rebounds, Calhoun was asked -- not for the first time -- if he had missed Gomes' star potential when passing on him during recruitment. Calhoun unleashed a legendary, and actually self-effacing, verbal fusillade:
"It's the dumbest [bleeping] question I've ever heard. I've explained it 1,000 times. I [fouled] up. I didn't take Ryan Gomes. Does that make you happy? Jesus Christ almighty. ... It took 18 months to sell the kid to Providence. It's been written about. It's been talked about. Don't shake your [bleeping] head. You asked a question. I'm telling you how I feel about it. I took Emeka Okafor and Caron Butler. They're not bad. I can't take every player. We have 13 scholarships. ... And if you want me to say I [fouled] up, I [fouled] up. Write it. ... You want me to say I [fouled] up? For the fifth time, I [fouled] up. So put it five times."
I don't think I've every noticed this one but that is great

This Kareem Abdul jabar interview might be their worst interview ever

Haven't gotten to the interview yet.

It wasn't the worst but Kareem definitely didn't get it

Definitely not even close to one of their better episodes. Having the MicksTape guys on really sucked and KAJ wasn't great.

They seemed scared to even try tho. Barely any jokes and bad timing on the questions. Lot of awkward silence
