Do you have to have a job to be considered working class, or just poor to lower middle class with no college education?

I'm serious.

I want to know.

Buzzword used to say that people making above a certain income amount don't really work.

In my opinion if you work for your money instead of it working for you you are a working class slob....I don't care if you are the biggest, highest paid hedge fund manager who ever shat between a pair of expensive shoes....if you work for money instead of money working for you you are working class...

And, there are very few people who aren't working class....it is the most common trait we share as humans in the western world. I don't care if you flip burgers at Mickey D's or you are a business owner....you are working class. It crosses all nationalities, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, race, creed.....etc etc etc. This is why we focus so much on such things....because capital MUST have us at one another's throats lest we get at theirs...and we fall for it every single time, without fail, and have since time out of mind....we get all involved with a man in a skirt shitting in the ladies room meanwhile the aristocracy cuts their taxes and lines their nests and we pay no attention at all because a man in a skirt is shitting in the ladies....

1. No you are not serious

2. You do not want to know

3. Here you go, dumb***

ETA:

4. Some white liberal elite classifies it as:

quote:

f your answer to the question “Who am I?” is “I’m a professor,” then your identity doesn’t change whether you’re in London, Miami or San Francisco. Elites have a tendency to leave home for college, then flit from one global capital to another. Not so the WWC, which Williams defines as white middle-class people (those in the $41,000 to $132,000 income range) who don’t have a college education. They’re strongly attached to their hometowns, to the people they feel comfortable with, to what they perceive to be the shared values of their communities.

A 'working man' is a guy who pushes a button that starts a robot that paints a GM car. He makes 70K a year (minus union dues) and lives happily until his job is shipped to Mexico. Then he realizes he should have saved some money instead of blowing it at the Casino and he starts whining about 'social security ain't enough to get by on.'

Just a generic term. It has replaced white, blue collar workers for some reason.

There was a time where "working class" meant someone who worked a 9-5 manufacturing or plant job and still could afford a tidy house in a middle-class neighborhood, have a wife who didn't need to work, or only worked part-time, and a couple of kids. They could afford a small vacation every couple of years, and kept their kids fed and clothed (though not always name-brand) and the family was proud of what they had and took care of their things and didn't need government assistance to make ends meet, even though there were tough times.

Yeah, that working class hardly exists anymore.

The left calls the welfare class the "working class" and calls the legitimate working class the "middle/upper class".

It's all part of their class warfare game plan.

This was my upbringing, except there were 3 kids. Mom had to go back to work in the mid 80's though to help make ends meet. Reagan screwed the working class.

This is true. I started to notice it about 10 years ago. They realized that nobody votes for a candidate who promotes welfare. So they changed the name to 'working poor'. Then they changed it again to 'working families.' They are not working and they are not families. It's mom on welfare and her 4 chirrenz.
