If he had a gun, it must have been his own, and he must have had a job where he worked inside in the air conditioning. That combination won't help you with the authorities in Alabama.

According to our partners at WKRG, Victor was involved in a traffic crash on I-10 near the Florida-Alabama State line. Sources told WKRG that when first responders tried to help Victor, he became combative.
First responders then called for police backup.
A law enforcement source told WKRG that the driver gestured towards police officers with an object in his hand and a deputy shot him.
So EMS called the police after they felt threatened. I wonder if any of them saw a gun?

Because for some completely unknown and bewildering reason schools and parents dont teach this. LEOs are a nervous bunch. It doesnt help to put them at a tactical disadvantage that makes them uncomfortable.
I will say this though. The whole shite about staying in your car is garbage. There is 0 tactical advantage to keep suspects inside their own cover and its actually an extremely risky approach. Thats why many special units that arent interested in fishing like Task Force and Street Crimes drawn down on you and command you exit the vehicle, not stay in it. Keeping you behind the wheel is just a reason to snoop into your vehicle and put eyes in it if they can walk up to it and/or say they smelled weed or whatever.

It's Baldwin County, nothing but white people, mexicans and tourists. So no riots.
We actually have a very diverse population in Baldwin county thank you very much but keep on with your narrative.

I found this interesting article on the wording of police involved shootings.

You’ll often see a similar grammatical device when a police officer shoots someone. Communications officers at policy agenies are deft at contorting the English language to minimize culpability of an officer or of the agency. So instead of...
Mayberry Dep. Barney Fife shot and killed a burglary suspect last night . . .
You’ll see . . . . . .
last night, a burglary suspect was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting.

If the Trooper was present when the guy got out of the car I assume they must have been in a car chase.

Here's a little update:
Not a gun, but he had SOMETHING in his hands. Not gonna tell you what it is either.
A previous article stated that the deputy fired five rounds. Based on today's update, it was "more than one" and from a rifle.
They know how many shots the deputy fired and they know what Victor had in his hands. Why do these guys alway try to obfuscate, instead of clarifying the situation? It was 5:15 in the morning, so it was dark. The guy is covered in blood and combative with EMS. When LE arrives, he won't follow instructions. After the dash and body cams are reviewed, this may be a clean shoot (I don't know how far apart the deputy and Victor were). When the Sheriff gives these evasive, half answers, it makes it look like they have something to hide.

Baldwin County Sheriff Huey Mack said Victor, 35, had something in his hands when he exited his vehicle and approached a deputy in an aggressive manner. "We did recover two items that were in his hands I can say that, but we're not going to discuss those at this time," Mack said. Victor was traveling eastbound on I-10 when his late model BMW sport utility vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle crash about 10 miles from the Florida line. Authorities received a call requesting medical assistance around 5:15 a.m., Mack said. They arrived to find Victor inside the vehicle covered in blood, AL.com reported. He was reportedly combative and non-compliant with medical personnel who pleaded with him to get out of the SUV. Victor exited the vehicle holding something in his hands as a deputy ordered him to get on the ground and drop the items, AL.com reported. The deputy, a 13-year veteran, fired more than one shot from his rifle.

I never met this guy in my life but I can add this to the story. Two people that I know and respect know this guy and know his family. They both are adamant that he is a good guy from a great family and that they could never see him doing anything at all like threatening an officer. They are both shocked and saddened at this story. Again, I don't know the guy but on the surface it seems at though he's not a thug.
