Michigan: High school in Muslim-controlled city has girls only prom- again

The event is intended to create a safe space for Muslim girls who normally cover up in hijab to let their hair down in an environment with no boys and no cellphones.

IMO, this is a step in the right direction for these girls. This is a small step towards a more western culture for them. I doubt they'd get this opportunity back in the Middle East.
Also, they're still having a normal prom.
This is a Muslim community adopting a western cultural norm. Not completely, but it is progress.

Well your post is mostly bullshite, but I have to admit I'm not really outraged by the all-female prom.
There are plenty of equivalents in the US in certain "Christian" and pseudo-Christian sects (pardon the expression).
(OTOH, the quote or Corinthians above us weak and misguided.)
In short, Muslims suck but I'm not triggered by this particular suckage.
Eta: it appears this is a self-funded event, held off-campus. I guess my speculative complaint would be if the school or some other authority disciplined students for a similarly segregated event.
From a purely cultural standpoint, I'm not sure our current system if high-school "dating" is some tried and true institution, so that's another reason this particular Mutlin event doesn't really rustle my circumcised Jimmy.

So when is the transgender boy who identifies as a girl showing up? Someone has to have already thought of this right?
