Predicting The Best 2017 NFL Rookies At Every Position (Saints related)

Offensive Tackle: Ryan Ramczyk, New Orleans Saints
If ever there was a good player-to-scheme fit in this draft, it would be Ramczyk to the New Orleans Saints. Their system is always about Drew Brees and throwing the football. That requires athletic protectors on the edge. Terron Armstead is entrenched on the left side. Ramczyk should be able to easily transition to the right. Will he play right away? If healthy he should. Zach Strief just isn’t the player he was a few years ago.
Ramczyk moves well in space and doesn’t have trouble handling speed rushers off the edge. The added bonus is he’s still big and strong enough to generate movement on the ground. That will make Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson happy. In truth Ramczyk was the exact player the Saints needed to fill a key need on their offensive roster. As if the unit wasn’t already hard enough to stop. More time for Brees and space for the running backs will raise his profile.

LOL press conference, this was one to remember

Writer did not want to give two positions to the Saints. His CB pick was a reach. I would say Saints should have had three on that list. Kamara is going to be lethal in the Joker role.
I am so excited for this draft. We have five players that should start soon, contribute early and be entrenched by next year at that position.

Agree with all of this, assuming we can avoid injuries, which history has shown ...

I'm going to go out on a stretch and say Marcus Williams has just a big a impact for us as Jamal Adams does for the Jets.
I see them two battling for Defensive ROY.

obviously not a poster here LOL

quote:Word. I loved the Ramczyk pick. When it came time for the Saints to pick I had a cloud of only two prospects left at that point: Ramczyk and Forrest Lamp. I could have seen the Saints going for Lamp as a LG and moving Andrus Peat to RT, but Ramczyk was fine by me. He fills a need and he was great value at #32.

Peat can't play on the right. We tried him at RT and RG and he struggled mightily. He has a firm left side technique and can't get the right side down.
So Lamp would have been a very bad fit for us.

quote:I've heard people on here say that. Peat is 23 years old. Won't be 24 until November. I'm not sure that kind of a conclusion can be reached after just two years in the league.

Did you see last year before we had to bring Evans back?
Not one damn player we had (Peat, Lelito, Kelemete, Turner, Allen, etc.) could play RG worth a damn. We looked like complete shite until we brought Evans back.
And then Peat starts at LG (and later LT once Armstead went down) and played lights out.
Sure it's still early in his career and given 2+ years training on the right (on top of the 2 years we already tried to train him on the right and failed) he might could switch, but he is 100% natural on the left and it's stupid to try to force him to the right.
Plus Payton said Peat is playing LG this year.
That's my only concern with Ramcyzk is switching to the right because the talent is there.

peat is like kelechi osemele
he's made for the left side and can excel, whether at guard or tackle.
we should be glad because those guys are hard to come by and from how armstead gets nicked up so often, we need it.

Yeah we're lucky to have three guys that are starter quality on the left.
And we finally added youth on the right. Hopefully the two right side additions pan out as planned.

Hopefully our 1st round additions don't go over as bad as they are in Tennessee...
The man suing Tajae Sharpe claims Sharpe beat him unconscious after the man "made comments about Sharpe getting less playing time" due to the Titans' selection of Corey Davis.
The lawsuit filed by alleged victim Dante Satterfield says "it was understood by all parties that Sharpe was upset by the Titans' selection of Davis." Along with teammate OG Sebastian Tretola, Sharpe allegedly followed Satterfield outside Tin Roof Bar in Nashville, where Satterfield was allegedly "punched in the face to the point of unconsciousness." A passerby saw Satterfield unresponsive on the ground and called 911. To reiterate, no criminal charges have been filed against Sharpe or Tretola, at least not yet.

I can get down with that but I doubt Hooker and Adams fall off like the WRs from 2015, but Williams can still be in the convo with those guys and could be better like Thomas was.
I think the most impressive thing is that he's already tacked on 15 pounds since the combine. Go check out his Twitter. He's been putting in work. He's around 6'1 217-220 now as opposed to 202 at the combine
