Is it wrong that I am upset over the faux-outrage of Sterling

I have generally kept quiet on all of this since I have made it clear on how ridiculous the Sterling case was from the beginning.
However, I am angered on how this case has demonstrated the worst elements of my people. No one cares about the black men and women struggling to make ends meet, find jobs to take care of themselves and thier families, or possibly being a good, serving member of the community.
They would rather give all this limelight to worthless thugs and degenerates than to people actually fighting against stereotypes and trying to achieve despite adversity. Most of you are white so this does not affect you, but it really puts me in bind.
I want to feel bad, but I do not mourn these people's death. I feel that overall, the killing was justified.

Gravy would say you are wrong. The race baiters would say you are betraying your people. I say you're just a logical, moral person, and when you're that kind of person, color doesn't matter

That's what I never understood, why make Brown and Sterling martyrs? Talk about hitching your horse to the wrong wagon.

You are a good man. It's ashame tht so many shitty leaders and the press like to bring so much attention to stuff like this and not try to use positive people and stories to focus on.

I agree bro. It's really disheartening and I am guilty of making fun of it myself

I think that in some cases, AA have a legitimate beef. But, this is not one of those cases.

I also don't understand why a lot of everyday good black folks identify with these thugs. I had one friend going on and on one day about fearing for his life. He lives in Minneapolis, is married to a white Dr, likes soccer and jazz. I told him I had a better shot of being killed by the police.

I'll never tell anyone how they should feel but life is a lot easier when you only worry about things that are in your control.

There is a lot of "fights" that the African Americans have, this is simply not one of them

I think the majority of people, no matter the color, think just like you. The problem is the most ignorant are usually the loudest.

Answer this, why do you guys feel the need to carry the burden of the black community on your shoulders?
You guys =young black men trying to do right.
You only need to worry about yourself and family. You can not change the community.
When a white man does something shameful we don't feel the need to protect them publicly. POS come in all races and genders.

Yep. And the fact people follow them is my biggest issue.
How dumb are these people to just blindly follow hateful people. The media is also to blame as they don't show the good stories. It's all doom and gloom

I can completely understand his family and close friends not wanting to accept the police version of the story. We all want to see our loved ones in a positive light and that can cloud our ability to see them for what they are. But the "community leaders" who use these stories to further their ambitions and gain political capital are the scum of the earth. They're willing to let the city burn over what they know is a lie.

Ignorant people who want to stay ignorant.

Herein lies a big problem. Identifying with racial group is foolish. I don't feel any responsibility for someone because they're white.
