50-100 million is not "extra cash."

Somebody like KD--who didn't give up that much, I don't think--could make up his gap with the endorsements championships could bring. Hayward ain't making that up.

And doesn't Paul George have all of his extra riding on if he makes 3rd team All-NBA? Lot of pressure on those voters.

I've loved the Celtics since I was a lil kid. Of course N.O.Pels are my #1. But it's good to see(hear) the garden goin crazy again. A couple of additions and look out

The folks in Columbia must be loving the feel good media coverage of Quin Snyder's redemption story.

I do like how they try to make him some saint.

Guy is a super coke head, who banged Linus Kleizas gfriend, cheated on his wife while coked up on several occasions.

I wonder how Larry Brown thinks of Q, it was his relative that Snyder cheated on.

When he was here, people always claimed his game plan was bad for College but perfect for NBA. Looks like coke + his game planning is working in NBA, they were right.

PS The guy isn't clean, he's still doing the booger sugar

This. All day. Every day.

It's amazing how naive some fans are.

Signing Horford was such an unbelievably stupid move and its going to hold them back. If the lotto comes and they don't get a top 2 pick they need to package it with Horford and take whatever they can get.

A guy leaving some extra cash for a better chance to win is not unheard of. Didn't KD just do it?

Lebron has been doing it for a few years.

As long as Lebron continues to take care of his body and mind while playing at this level, it doesn't matter who Boston signs or trades for--if it isn't a young Larry Legend, Michael Jordanesque' type player it won't matter a hill of beans...

And as of today there isn't a player close to Lebron's caliber in this league. I thought Andrew Wiggins would become that type player, but he is still extremely young and developing. He will get there probably, but it won't be for years.

Wiggins is a below average player. He might not even be the third best player on a 31 win team.

I won't argue that fact. I won't.

There are times offensively he definitely shows potential. His game is extremely unrefined and hasn't been tapped to it's full potential, but it may never be realized and that is something I accept as a fan of the game.

The tools are there, but they may not fix a thing (the tools).

Rubio and Towns definitely could be argued as being more valuable. Rubio developing a jump-shot is going to make him a valuable commodity when he becomes a free-agent again.

Boston is like a Autistic person, they hold all their assets and just stay put instead of making themselves better.

Draft Fultz
Sign Hayward
Trade Thomas for more assets (sell high)

They don't need another role player, Hayward is an upper tier role guy.

Fultz is one or two in the draft--so you are expecting Boston to get that high of a pick with the Nets attaining the first or second pick.

Hayward isn't a guarantee whatsoever as others have insinuated with contract deals.

Thomas is older (28 will be 29 next playing year) and regardless of his production offensively he is still 5'9 and unless you already have an established star that is willing to play along-side Thomas you aren't getting top value. That is just my opinion of course.

Here is a hot take: this looks like it will be difficult for Boston no matter what in pulling the right thing off. So many opportunities and decision that could work or backfire equally.

LeBron's endorsement game is so good he is getting money from Intel. Think about that for a second. A basketball player got $10 million from a computer chip maker.

I will say that Boston is in an envious, but interesting position. Who is ever this good this early with a great young coach, and so many high pick assets? They need a non Isaiah Thomas superstar to get over the hump and do more than just have a nice regular season and get bounced in conference finlas(at best). Is there anybody available worth cashing those picks in that would get them there? Or do you just keep em, hope you find one in the draft and try to go in like 10-year run of being really really good? Ainge has some interesting decisions to make.

I agree with all this. Boston is now an ECF type team. How do they get over the hump? Signing someone else to go with IT, Horford, and Bradley is key. I think they need a top PF or swingman. They need scoring from someone else.

Paul Millsap could be an interesting (and realistic) FA option for the C's.
