people on r/Bitcoin seem to think it expands the reporting/surveillance responsibilities of the exchanges but I didn’t see specific language
What any of this has to do with infrastructure is beyond me

Unsure - very well could be the maxis concerns with privacy, which would lend to statement of moving stuff off of exchanges. Could have to do with reporting, could have to do with tax stuff...not a clue

So if you drop the little drive and the lcd or something doesn't work, but it's still intact structurally. Can they recover it or are you boned?
I have a 24 word recovery seed and two cold wallets. If both cold wallets fail I can either get a third cold wallet or use a software wallet and use the recovery seed to regain access to the addresses containing my crypto.
If your seed phrase is lost and you have hardware failure, you are boned. You can get the seed phrase machined onto metal or store it in a secure location like a safety deposit box or memorize it if you are so inclined.
Never, ever enter your seed phrase into a machine that isn’t the cold wallet unless you are out of options and have to use a software wallet. If someone has that phrase, they have your wallet.

yea they're going to make you kyc into private wallets. knew that was coming
the language and enforcement of anything like this is going to be sloppy at best

well if you have a problem with KYC of course you are going to rush off the exchanges on that news
but like I said, tumblers are going to become the VPN of the crypto world I bet

Ah, ok that makes more sense. I gotta get a cold wallet. Thanks for info.

yea def agreed.
I also don't understand what these maxis plan to do if theyre going to store their Bitcoin on a cold wallet for the rest of their life?
I guess that's great or whatever but I'd rather use it as asset collateral for a usd loan or put it to use in some other form
regulations make this safe and possible.

Damn this Dinoswap farm has been nice to me. In addition to the insane yield (~2%/day), the token itself has been appreciating nicely.. I got in around $2.30. The big drop in the middle is when the market went bananas a little while ago, people dumped the token to go FOMO into BTC/ETH.
Might be time to cash out soon and leave with my earnings intact. Tempting to be greedy and hope it keeps pumping but these farms all inevitably dump, even good ones like this one.

doing all that seems like such a meme to me
would be interesting to know how many people get rekt trying to do all cold wallet storage for no reason then "they're going to steal your bitcoin bro" logic

I think people fear property taxes or bans in the future. The risks of bans seems to be pretty much zero now though. Also just a general desire for privacy. But to each their own, I don’t see a reason to argue too much about it either way.
In other news, the US government awarded a contract out for a company to act as a bank for all of their seized BTC and it sounds like they are liquidating some of it.
LINK
I’m happy to hear they are liquidating personally. I’d rather the coins be in the custody of people rather than government safes.

unless you bought your bitcoin off some sketchy ATM you're not private though
so whether you store on a exchange or on 3 cold wallets under a mountain, I fail to see the difference
they still know you have it
if you think the government would steal it from us then we have bigger problems anyway

Link pumping time for BTC to return back to 35k

link has been one of the dumbest things to hold for awhile now so hopefully it starts to do something

For us to be drinking cocktails on the moon powered by BTC, it will take governments holding BTC.

Yup it missed all the bullrun hype other than you know pumping from $4 to $52. Sucks that it went back to $13. Thanks to Gemini earn im adding to my link stack daily so guess I’ll just be patient as they continue to add their daily integrations and work with the World Economic Forum.

that's neat.
the 6 month Link/BTC chart has been absolutely brutal.
