This is great article on the "History" behind the statues deemed racist and a public nuisance. Kinda long, but so is history. New Orleans will end up taking a bigger black eye for the removal of these monuments than if they had not. Another sad decision in the name Political Correctness steered by over sensitive racist agenda.

Monumental Mistake

The city of New Orleans was fricked before they decided to strip it of some of its history, one of the few positive things it had going for it.

Through out history the leaders of New Orleans have more often than not made the incorrect decision. That is why the city is a third world banana republic. They currently have a 22% murder clearance rate and are focusing their energy on removing the statues. The rest of the country looks at them with amazement as to how they could be so stupid.

No sense of trying to fight it. People are removing them with ski masks, they know damn well people are not happy with it. However, I take comfort in knowing that the people who wanted these statues taken down will still lead shitty lives. They care more about the idea of a statue and less about "their" community.

Yea Frick NOLA. I only go down their once a year to take my students to the WWII museum. I wonder when the Civil war museum which is across the street from the WWII museum, will be shut down or rioted and looted?

The cry from the peanut gallery to remove Andrew Jackson's statue is going to only get louder. Then the agitators will start screaming about street names. History is about the only thing New Orleans has going for it; it's not really that nice of a city, but her history is awesome.

It's emotional pandering and the majority black voters are too ignorant and naive to see it for what it is.

After all is said and done, they'll still be killing each other at tremendous rates. Enjoy your shite hole city. I'm so glad I moved away, but I'll come visit intermittently.

I hope you're right brother, but I fear that NO is on the brink of becoming more liberal and this may not bite them.

I guess it's a chocolate city after all

Having grown up there I can honestly say NOLA turned into a dump a while back. The chocolate city just put the icing on the cake of black racism. Never will go back.
