Mark Ingram averaged 5.1 YPC last season, am I missing something?

I'm as big of an LSU fan as you can get but this hate has absolutely got to stop for Mark Ingram. I'm going through numerous threads of fans wanting to dump Ingram or trade him for peanuts, what the hell is wrong with all of you?
Of RBs with at least 200+ carries, Mark Ingram's YPC is 5.1, which is tied with Ezekiel Elliott and behind only LeSean McCoy and Jordan Howard.

Don't pay attention to the trolls. Peterson is not a replacement for Ingram. He is a replacement/upgrade to Hightower. Anyone with half of a brain understands this.

its just most of the time it isn't funny which sucks

I'll take AP the next 2 seasons. Mark Ingram is a Avg NƒL RB .. I'd love to see the Saints Trade him!!

Trading him for peanuts would be crazy. I say he's at least worth a po boy

He had kind of a slow start to his career, we traded up to get him, and he went to Alabama. Some LSU/Saints fans will never forgive him, even if he is a productive player.

It's purely Bc he played for Alabama. And he has a slight fumble problem. When he holds onto
It hes good
It hes good

It's our offensive line not Ingram that's what you're missing. Hightower rushed for 87 and 102 when he got ingrams carries. Can't wait for AP to put his arse on the bench let him have his hissy fits on the sidelines he can come in and give the goat a breather.
I know yall hate advanced stats but football outsiders has us the #1 run blocking o-line last year.

You're missing all his fumbles at the worst time possible

You're not missing anything man.
As Mark65 said, he's a Hightower upgrade. As much as we all appreciated Tjm (great guy, leader, etc), we needed to upgrade the backfield. Hightower wasn't running for anything after contact.
We're adding potential to have two running backs that can scare a defense. Will it work out? Dunno. But if Peterson can take 150+ ish carries for more damage than Hightower could, then it makes the offense more dangerous. We had the cap space.
That's all there is to it.

An Ingram hater deserves no football discussion credence.

He went to Bama so we don't like him. Most would rather have literally anyone else of equal (or maybe slightly less) value. It's stupid. What's even more stupid is not admitting it. Trying to make performance based arguments for your Ingram hate makes you look like an ignorant follower. Just admit you don't like him because he went to Bama. If we had Julio, I'd wanna trade him for Antonio Brown or OBJ. Just is what it is.

He fumbled several times in key moments of games last year, lack of homerun hitter speed and bad attitude make him average

2 good backs is better than 1

Bama hate blinds some people on this board

MI in a nutshell with fans is the type of RB that when he runs for 125 yards and 2 TDs, we celebrate him for one day. When he fumbles in the first quarter of a preseason game, fans never forget and despise him for years.
He's not elite, and won't be in our offense b/c of limited touches. In our O, he is a solid to good RB. We haven't truly had an elite RB since Duece, and even he wouldn't have been elite in our O today as much as people think he would in his prime. RBs like MI need 20 plus carries a game to show their full potential. That's not gonna happen with any RB in a SP offense, or at least, very seldom. And as much as I liked Pierre Thomas, he wasn't elite either.

I like MI and have no desire to trade him. I also think AP is a waste on money for us.
That said, to compare MI to McCoy and Eliot is insane. He grinds and cobbles together rather impressive stats by seasons end, but he lacks a lot of key attributes. He is not useful in goal line or third and short. He isn't a homerun threat. He doesn't block all that well and he's a marginal receiver out of the backfield.

He also has one of the lowest fumble per carry stats and he can block.

Douchey ranttards are the one starting those threads, don't worry about them
