Jeff Duncan is hearing that the Saints are still “very much” involved with free agent RB Adrian Peterson and are still discussing a possible short-term contract
Peterson has visited with the Seahawks, Saints and Patriots but recent reports have said that he’ll likely wait until after the draft to sign with a team, given that this year’s draft is very deep at running back.

Seems it would be better to sign with a team before the draft. Why give those teams a chance to fill the position?

Cyprus trees make the best switches and you cant find Cyprus in Seattle or Boston

Would love it if we went ahead and signed him prior to the draft, that way we could maybe nab a guy like Curtis Samuel who be a WR and a RB, instead of going just straight RB in the draft

It would be better for him, sure.
But I'm willing to bet it is the teams that want to hold off.

but then what if we get mcafrey or even fournett at 11? I think that is why they (all the teams interested in AP) prefer to wait

Neither will fall.
LF7 will be a Jag and Carolina will take McCaffrey. And besides, if they were going to take a guy like that then I think they would wait and take Mixon.
11 needs to be spent defensively on any playmaker that can help and if Carolina and Jacksonville do take RBs and a throw in a couple of QBs then a really good defensive player might fall

Gonna be a lot of disappointed people if we take a RB with the 11 pick. Myself included.

Cyprus is an island. A cypress is a tree.

...because it works both ways. If a team doesn't fill the RB posiiton, Peterson becomes more valuable.
