yoga for lower back pain
Posted on 4/20/17 at 2:43 pm to LSUvegasbombed
Lay flat on your back on a solid surface, bend your knees so that your feet are flat on the hard surface. Place the right ankle across the left knee (the "bump bone" you feel on the side of your ankle should be positioned just past the knee. Lift your left knee up towards your chest (this will bring your right crossed leg up with it). With both hands grab your shins palm side down back hand up (do not reach under your leg & grab your thigh bc this will lessen the intensity of the stretch). With both hands grasping your right shin and your left knee pushing your right leg up towards your chest, pull with both hands and hold (DO NOT BOUNCE) the stretch for 15 seconds and repeat on the left side. Then repeat it twice again for a total of 3 times. One side will feel tighter than the other and you will feel the painful stretch across from where your leg (femur) fits into your hip and under your buttock over to the bone you sit on and to the sacrum (the triangle bone in the middle most people call the tail bone). Do this twice daily for 10 days. Once 5 minutes after waking up in the morning and simply walking to the bathroom or kitchen to get your blood into the extremities. And then again 10-15 min before you go to bed at night. After the 10 days, do it 4 days a week forever to keep the symptoms at bay. Then when you lay down at night put two pillows under your knees while laying on your back (you may choose to use a moist heating pad during this time) and if you turn on your side put a pillow between your knees and your ankles. If you are a stomach sleeper train yourself to stop. You are literally twisting your body in traction 6-8 hours a night and leading to degenerative arthritis and disc involvement. I have tons more over skype I can review with you on a business level. If you sit on a wallet during the day STOP IT. Put the wallet in your front pocket so you are not sittting on a wedge all day long.

Stretch piriformis and hip flexors. See if you have a pelvic tilt and fix it.

Sciatic nerve maybe?
Do the previously stated crossed leg stretch.
Lay down, bring ur knees to your chest and hug them while trying to pull them to your face, keep head on the ground.
Stretch hammies.

Cannibis oil, heating pad and rest. Really isn't much you can do

Does it start in your lower back and work its way to the hip through your arse?

Is it muscular? A TENS machine, a massage by a real masseuse who knows what he or she is doing, stretching the legs and abdominal wall, NSAIDs and muscle relaxers, and ice (if it's been less than 24 hours) will help.
If it feels like it's spinal or the result of some trauma, go get medical help. You may have a slipped disc or pinched nerve. They can't do shite for muscles except prescribe an anti-inflammatory/muscle relaxer. Maybe get you in to see a chiropractor or professional masseuse.

Might be sciatica. Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs.

Going through the same exact thing. It takes time to heal. Yoga, and TENS machine help. Look up YouTube vids on "Treating Sacro-Illiac Pain". Stretching helps temporarily, but strengthening and realigning the hips is what is needed long-term.

This the OT, you obviously have back AIDS
But honestly it might be your sciatic nerve, that's where mine hurts all the time.

Clean out your wallet. And put it on the other side or keep it in the truck.

Take your bulky 5 year old wallet out of your left back pocket.

There was a Chinese massage place in Covington you could have tried but they closed up a couple of weeks ago.

Try taking 800 milligrams of ibuprofen at once, once a day, sounds like inflammation in your lower
back muscles. Just don't take it for a long period not good for your kidneys.
