The Democrat party is in absolute shambles, but keep trying to find hope wherever you can.

Delusional. The Democrats targeted this open election because there was a splintered Republican field. The strategy would have worked if they had low Republican turnout with votes scattered amongst the candidates.

They managed to get 1% more votes than Hillary in this election, still below 48%. They won't win a runoff and will be doomed.

All of the money and effort, and they still lost!!!! Just like November 2016!!!

Meh...looks like a bunch of alternate facts are being thrown against the wall. Pretty typical from the bunch that still can't seem to accept election results...

I'd argue that it's as good a district as any if you were to extrapolate it to the general population. Has a good bit of low income, medium income & high income. Is suburban with pockets of urban. Southern roots with a lot of northern transplants.

It's missing the sticks but you got some pretty scenic rural type stretches in between the suburbs.

Through the 435 members of the house and 100 senators. Both houses a republican majority

You think this matters

Hey republicans do too so you're not alone. You're all conducting a naval exercise in a bath tub

Trump is a controversial figure and that may or may not matter in a district where there are a lot of lukewarm Rs

It's reasonable to predict that Republicans could take a hit in 2018, and that wouldn't be particularly shocking

But to act like this is something of historical importance is just silly

Voter turnout nearly matched the midterm in 2014.

For a special election in April.

Yeah, no interest...

and it ended with Republicans getting 51% of the vote while Dems got 49%. How do you think the runoff is going to go?

This isn't one of them. If they have to defend GA-06, they're beyond screwed in Nov 2018.

Are Nancy Pelosi and Silicon Valley going to spend millions upon millions on every democratic Congressional candidate in 2018?

Dems tried hard but, once again, failed.

Isn't this where you should be happy considering you despise everything he stands for.

I'm talking about around the country. I'm saying the only reason there is public interest is because the Democrats tried their best to turn this race into a big deal.

It's not as if there was a lot of interest and the media simply covered it. The Dems and their friends in the media beat the drums to create a public interest when nobody outside of Georgia would have cared.

Democrats are looking for crumbs if they are this worked up over a house seat race in a single district in Atlanta.

Trump has barely been in office 3 months....and these are the most local of elections when it comes to Washington. That single district is going to mostly vote for local interests either way.

Can't believe Trump hasn't talked about it, he must be scared

if it makes him happier in the fee-fees that turnout equaled that of 2014 midterms despite millions being poured in to it and Samuel L. Jackson showing his mug in commercials to bring people to polls, then let him have his moment.
