Electric Mower - worth it?

Tired of the old one I have, and was pondering not having to worry about keeping gas on hand. Are electric mowers (preferably battery powered) worth it? Anyone have any luck with them?
Riding mower isn't an option - yard is two level with stairs leading down (away from the shed) to the portion that's at least 70% of the total yard.

No experience with them, but just my opinion, electric and lawn mower don't belong together whether it be battery or 120VAC.

Depends how big your yard is. However much they say it can cut, assume it can only do half of that.
And if you're gonna get an electric mower, try and get a weed eater and blower that use the same batteries

Just depends on the size of the yard. I used a Neuton for 8 years before it gave up the ghost.
It's super light and incredibly easy to use. It's quiet and I can't think of a better mower for a small yard. Replacement batteries are cheap (reuse the factory housing)
It's a million times better than gas...unless you need a gas mower. Just really depends on lawn size.

Depends on the yard. When I lived in a shotgun house in town with a tiny yard a push-reel mower, and weed-eater was all I needed.
Battery would be fine if you could do the whole yard without recharging.

i just bought a EGO electric blower and it works just as good as my gas blower. Was really impressed.
for $99 down from $199:
110 mph 530 CFM Variable-Speed Turbo 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Leaf Blower
so if lithium battery operated mowers work like this then id say go for it. youd probably need to buy 2 or 3 batteries though depending on the size of your yard.

I like my battery weed eater.
