Macho Man HAS to be on there. He was the only one that could hold a candle to Hogan in the golden era.

If we are talking all time without personal bias:

Bruno
Hogan
Macho Man
Undertaker

Edit:
Took Andre off even though he deserves it too. Other honorable mentions would be Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart (personally hate him), Stone Cold, The Rock, and John Cena (hate him too).

But my personal Rushmore would be:

Macho Man
Ultimate Warrior
The Rock
Shawn Michaels

The lack of Vince McMahon mentions is absolutely stunning to me.

On a Mount Rushmore of the WWE, he would 100% guaranteed be there.

He was with the company from its infancy. He was a ref, an in-ring announcer, and a play-by-play man before taking ownership and growing the brand into what it is today over the last 30+ years. Not to mention he was one of the greatest heels when the WWE was in its prime during the Attitude Era.

Many of the responses, myself included, are from guys who were wrestling fans as kids, especially during the glory days of the mid 80s up until the late 90s. I personally haven't watched or followed wrestling in at least 15 years, and I think even by then my interest was waning. The last time I really was into wrestling was 20 years ago during the Monday night wars.

Mine was based on strictly wrestlers. If we start adding non wrestlers (or former wrestlers who did stuff like announcing) you have to consider guys like Gene Okerlund, JR, Lawler, Gorilla Monsoon, etc.

Then it becomes near impossible to do this.

But you are right in that if we did include non wrestlers (not counting guys like Vince and Shane, talking full timers) Vince would 100% be on there.

Those guys are the reason WWE is where it's at today. I like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, but they were at the top of the card when WWE was literally about to go out of business. They got the push they did because of the steroid scandal and because, so many old WWE stars moved to WCW.

You are spot on on Bret....he just couldn't hack it in the attitude era either....he was at his best as a straight up babyface which isn't what people wanted from 96-ish to the mid-00's.

Now HBK I disagree on. He came up in the era with Bret, but the Montreal Screw Job kind of started the attitude era with the Cliq. You could make a case that started the attitude era more so than the Austin 3:16 speech at KOTR. HBK thrived in the attitude era and yes, IMO, helped define the era....the attitude era would be less of a thing without HBK's DX. Now you can make the argument that his injuries prevented more of an influence in that era for him which I'd say is probably true....but he still had a helluva influence.

Hogan and Undertaker are locks.

I think you have to put the Rock. Most Charismatic wrestling persona ever. Transcended wrestling into literally becoming the most recognizable celebrity in the world at current.

After that, I think flair, Stone Cold, Macho Man are all pretty good options.
